Latest player said to have signed for us by the Rugby Player. Samoan international ex Blues, Cardiff Blues, and currently at Treviso. A quick youtube search throws up some decent hits

Mentions a few other names we already know about and confirms the obvious; that we are delaying announcements for the moment. States that Hamilton in particular is dependent on promotion.

He is a lump and will certainly add ballast to our pack.

Another lock, does this mean any of our current locks are on the way out next year?

There must be some... with this guy and Hamilton we'd have at least 8 unless some move on!

To replace McNally? I think he only on a short term contract

I think George Robson only came here on a 1 year contract.

Maybe Sexton is also off?

Hope that we can keep Will Lloyd, as his line-out work is superb.

Would be mad not to offer Mcnally a contract, good age, English qualified and has a lot of potential. Sexton and Llyod both Contracted till next year as is De chaves and sinclair. So I guess Robson maybe?

McNally and Robson not contracted next season yet as far as I'm aware.

Can't find a contract length for Sexton, so his may just have been a year too.

Would obviously be good to keep hold of Robson. Not sure if I've read about him not wanting to play against Quins in the past. May have made that up though.

Probably safe to assume two would be leaving, Robson was a one year deal, maybe Sexton off as well as he doesn't feature as heavily as the others. We'll be playing three front next season with LV, Europe and Prem so we'll need a big squad. Second row is a weakness for us, the academy doesn't seem to produce any second rows whereas we're blessed with backs. I'd like to see us use Europe and LV like the B&I cup, give the boys experience against even better opposition. We won't have the option of rotation if we go up, we'll need our best 22 as often as we can

Letting Robson go would be a big mistake in my mind. De Chaves has been very good in the line-out, but Robson is a real specialist in the way that none of the other first choice options are. For me:

Robson
Hamilton
De Chaves
McNally
Paulo

That's five solid locks capable of playing first team Rugby in the Premiership, with Lloyd still developing (physically at least) to feature in the LV and the A League.

I think Llyod is a very good second row for us and I'd be happy seeing him in our prem team if we go up! I'm sure Robson will be offered a deal. It's all just rumours at the moment however so let's see at the end of the season. Would be a shame if sexton left though as I think he's a decent player

Does Jebb offer much now?

Too small as a second row, and too pedestrian in the back row.

He signed a contract either at the tail end of last year or the beginning of this one. He's definitely fallen down the pecking order, yes he's been injured but I don't him forcing his way back into that 22. Gilsenan offers far more on the flanks and the other second rows are taller and more specialized. He's fallen into the crack of not being a specialist in one particular position

I don't think you can judge Jebb on this season (he has only played 30mins!!). IMHO he is a solid player who can play in multiple positions. For that reason he is a good person to have on the bench. However, we do have better options in the second/back row and so may find it difficult to get regular game time.

Having said that, we see every year the benefit of having big squads where players can seamlessly drop in and out of games. If we get a squad where the likes of Jebb are 3rd/4th choice then our squad will be in a good position

Yep how often have we had to sign players on loan halfway through a season due to injuries? The answer is A LOT. Strength in depth will be key next year

Mention of Gilsenan I really do hope he stays, rumours that he is off next season, extremely underused this year

Robson is a cracking player and we'll need both grunt and guile if we go up - TRP suggests signings not confirmed to avoid unsettling the squad or because they're conditional on promotion

Sure I heard someone say that they spoke to him at a game and that he was frustrated with his lack of gametime

I'd hope Conor is frustrated but at the same time I hope he is channelling that into pushing for a place in the starting 11. He'll get a lot of chances to show his worth if he sticks around another year.

Is that where the rumour came from that he is off? just because he is frustrated by lack of game time? Easy start rumours these days

All players want to play and will be frustrated at lack of game time. It's that nightmare for the coaching team of how to keep players happy whilst they aren't playing.

The Prem is much more attritional and strength in depth will be needed in order to have injury cover but also to give some of the front liners a rest now and then.

Lloyd is way too lightweight for the Prem. he is good in the lineout due to his height, but at AP level you need more than that and need to offer more round the park.

I'd say that Will Lloyd is of similar overall size/shape to NJK - he wasn't too bad for us, and didn't he go onto to win the HEC with Toulon...?

Craig Gillies, another slender lock, also had a pretty successful career.

Nick Kennedy was a world class lineout forward. Lloyd is a long way from that. He's still young and developing though, so we'll see how he gets on in the next year or so.

When people say Llyod is too lightweight, according to the website he's still well over 18 stone
