Preseason friendlies
26 June, 2017 12:30
Are we having this year the Cunningham Duncombe Series against Quins?
Last year we played them on the 13th of August and the year before we played them twice at the Stoop on the 25th September and 2nd of October (it was a World Cup year). I heard over the grapevine that we are also playing against Ealing Trailfinders sometime this summer. Does anyone know anything?

We play Ealing at Hazelwood on 18th August. Not heard of any others yet. I'd be surprised if we don't play the Cunningham Duncan Series again.

Is that literally it?

One friendly - blimey. I'd hope we'd have at least 3 or 4 before the opening game.

Where did you hear we would only be having one? That doesn't seem right...

We've not even confirmed last season's leavers. First things first...

I've heard it could be the 12th (still tbc) but I'm surprised Hazelwood is being considered unless they bring in a lot of seating, and parking would be a nightmare unless the Paddock area could be used as a temporary car park. Maybe we are doing a home and away Cunningham Cup which was the original arrangement.

I have a cunning plan: Since we are playing them on the first game of the season we should play really badly in the friendlies so that they think we are @#$%& and then we can kick their @#$%& in the double header.

Now up

vs Harlequins at Hazelwood - 12th August 3pm

vs Ealing at Hazelwood - 18th August 7:30pm

vs Richmond at RAG - 26th August 3pm

Bit disappointed that the Cunningham-Duncombe series isn't at the Stoop, Hazelwood doesn't really feel like as suitable a ground for such a game.

Surely Hazelwood would be better for finances than giving a game for Quins to profit from?

And if those pesky Quins have the same cunning plan, it will be a cracker!

Really disappointed that Cunningham Duncombe being played at Hazelwood
Doesn't seem to do the game justice, unless shield being presented at LDH?

But anyway, any news on tickets for this one?
