Anyone planning to travel by rail through the Bristol area to Gloucester should be aware that Bristol Parkway station will be closed on weekends from Saturday 4 November to Sunday 19 November, allowing Network Rail to continue working on a new platform.

Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 November / Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 November
High Speed services will call at Patchway instead of Bristol Parkway. A replacement bus service will run between Patchway and Bristol Parkway to connect with these services. Local services will be replaced by buses between Filton Abbey Wood and Yate. Some services may be retimed.
This can be avoided for those from the Reading area by changing at Swindon and travelling via Kemble / Stroud to Gloucester.
