Those videos are hard to watch. And one who claimed that this isn’t down to the coach, sit down and look at this, first phase is all about the coach, every phase after that you’re slowly releasing the responsibility to the players to ensure they’re in the right positions.

Sadly excellent big hearted players ain't usually the best coaches at this level.Just as in the round ball game you need the students of the mechanics and realities of the game to instil match winning gen. These horror vids, show unpleasant truths and just reinforce what we already know, the coaching of defence and attack ain't been good.
Can the players get the coaches out of sh*t creek.

Interesting article. Obviously coaching is an important element, but perhaps someone with a deep knowledge of the mechanics and realities could explain which bit of the plan "drop off tackles and have a bit of a flap" is? Or ambling back from the breakdown rather than getting a bit of pace into it? Could it possibly be more complicated than coaching alone?

Your the coach, you've got 40+ players, drop the slackers, you're bottom of the league and many jobs are at risk. Now about your coaching.....!

Probably, but if you have a team of individuals it is the coaches who are responsible for gelling them together by setting the direction, skills and style of them as a team.

If that doesn't happen the players end up confused leading to some very basic mistakes. Where there is doubt there is a fumble or a missed tackle.

I blame the coaching staff, because most people generally do and i have little knowledge of the professional set up at the club. You should never put any players in the .dock they are blameless even if they sometimes drape themselves on opposition players like net curtains or let the ball bounce instead of going for the catch or show a lack of dissaplin or if sometimes catching, passing of the ball isn't quite in their skill set.
Who ever said rugby is a team game, didn't think it through.
