ohnny Williams has had to withdraw through injury, with Theo Brophy Clews switching from fly-half to No. 12. James Marshall will now play at 10, with Tommy Bell coming off the bench to play full-back. Greig Tonks comes into the replacements.

04: Referee Ian Tempest fails to go to the TMO bizarrely as Lewington crosses in the corner for what looked like a legitimate score. He rules a forward pass from Marshall.

Clueless?

Look at the facts, 80+ points scored and 8 tries scored in two games.

Yet our loyalty to stick with a club legend who has zero coaching experience has come back to haunt us.

This season has been decided on our inability to score clutch tries. Gloucester, Saints, Sale, Leicester*2, Bath, Wasps*2 and Falcons have been lost by a total of 42 points, or 1.5 penalties a game. Had we converted just three of these games then we'd be in the clear.

All that being said, it'd be the greater escape in history if we manage to scrape 11 points against Bath, Exeter, and Sarries, but boy it would be great fun.

The truth is that Quins were awful but we can only play the team that turns up and today we were brilliant.

£45 well spent.

The problem with catching either Warriors or Saints is that Warriors have still to play Quins at home and on the final day of the season Saints are home to Warriors.

Of course that isn't the only problem we also have to beat Chiefs, Saracens and Bath.

With all the talk of ring fencing and potentially LI getting pushed out as I result, i'm just really pleased that we continue to show that we can compete in this league & push most teams hard, as we have for the last few months against those both at the top and bottom of the table.

These last few months at least show that we don't belong in the championship in a ring fencing scenario.

Great result today, I really hope we can keep hold of both the SA recruits and as many of our youngsters as possible!

If we did beat Exeter & Series (a massive if I know) then I think survival would be in our hands on the last game of the season as if we beat bath we'd stay up regardless of the Worcester v saints game. Beat bath in this scenario and the loser of that game would go down (of course assuming they both don't get any points in the next two games!

Otherwise Saints play Leicester and Wasps, where 0 points is Imo the most probable outcome.Warriors play Wasps and Quins, where they should get about 5 in total. We play the two best sides in the country, albeit ones who have home SFs basically sown up, who therefor may put out weakened teams. The ideal result would be for Warriors (+1) and Saints to be on 32 points come the last weekend with those two playing each other and us against a Bath team already on the beach with us at 28-32 (+6-10). Unfortunately first tiebreaker is no. of wins, where we're 3 behind both others.

There's the faintest glimmer of hope, although I expect that it will be extinguished next week.

Bath will have nothing to play for in the final game, Exeter will have the home SF spot tied up assuming that they win tomorrow, and Sarries will probably also have theirs sown up by next week, fingers crossed that they put out severely weakened teams to prevent injuries before the playoffs.

We needed Worcester to lose their remaining games realistically to have any chance.

I just hope we remain competitive and keep picking up points. We went past the 20 point mark today, which saw us relegated in 16 and Bristol in 17. Important to go into pre season with a few positive vibes around the club.

There is a tweet going around at the moment highlighting how tough sport can be when it comes to fine margins. Irish have a better defensive record than the three teams above them, and are pretty much level on point scored with two team around them. Just those couple of wins that they let slip will ultimately cost them.

To sum up, Irish have proved more than capable of holding their own in this league but will end up on the naughty step for a year.

Quins had 6 England internationals, I think in their team and not one of them would have made it into our team yesterday.

What a pity there weren't more Irish fans there to see it. What exactly do the Brentford thousands want before they actually attend a game?

Team with nothing to play for don't show up against team fighting for their Premiership lives

The Brentford thousands are probably looking forward to exciting, winning rugby rather than bottom of the table, nearly all hope is lost stuff. Although I enjoyed it yesterday - then again, I'm not from Brentford (or Reading)

We all want exciting winning rugby but if that was our only criteria the Madejski Stadium would have been empty for most of the season.

Our current unbeaten run equals out best of the Premiership season - one.

We can only hope that at least some of the thousands who turned up and watched an exciting if unsuccessful game against Gloucester will return to watch us play the top side in the Premiership this weekend.

Any bests?

The most interesting thing about yesterday was, for me at least, that the team was made up of the players who had been so poor for so long. PvZ was the only real newbie.

This for me is the clincher that the coaching set up was a fail. The signs were there for Gloucester but not maintained, this week they more or less maintained them. The players had been given a clear plan and knew how to execute it.

Unfortunately 3 months too late but fingers crossed that fortunes are changing for the longer term.
