ST renewals - website and phone not working

Has anyone else tried to renew their ST this morning? (Today is the 1st day for Y21 - Y24 renewals).

The web-site gives me an 'almost blank' page, while the phone just goes round the menu twice, then hangs up.

Maybe they are having a rethink on the extortionate cost

Just had an Email

"You can renew by calling 0118 968 1016 or visiting the Ticket Office at the Madejski Stadium. Please note, East Stand renewals will not be available online this week."

Hi Charlie

We sent this email to the East Stand ticket holders in Y21-Y24 (that have registered their email addresses with us) to confirm that you will need to renew over the phone.

The online system cannot allow only certain East Stand season ticket holders to purchase.
It will be available from 29th onwards

The phone lines are extremely busy as a result but we have test called a few times and we are getting through so apologies if your call dropped out.

Thanks
Kelly

Hi Kelly,

I am sorry but this is not good enough we cant just buy season tickets over the phone, I want to be able to choose my seats not told what is available. I live 2 hours drive one way so that is not an option. Yet again not feeling the London Irish love.

I totally agree. (OK, I live only 15 mins from the stadium, but I do not have the time to go during the working day).

I was relying on checking seat availability on-line, and carefully choosing my seat.

I think we may have to bear in mind that it is the close season and that (certainly it was the case the last time we were relegated) a number of staff may have been made redundant and thus there are fewer people, spread thinner.

I gave up on line and renewed by phone took about 5 minutes.

Having said that I couldn't get to the stadium, I have just been down there and renewed my ST - chosing a seat in the process. It was quick and painless, if you forget about the need to go there. Thanks to Tessa for putting up with (1) my failure to read the screen correctly and (2) putting up with several changes of mind about where to sit.

I don't think the argument about staff redundancies really holds up - tickets are done by the statium (and poss Reading FC). The issue is that someone designed a strategy (allowing phased renewals) that the stadium system couldn't cope with. London Irish then chose not to tell us - the original e-mail said nothing about this, and the web page still says:

LI website
You can renew or purchase a Season Ticket and/or seasonal Car Parking online by clicking here.

The e-mail saying we could not renew on-line didn't arrive until 10:00 am this morning, by which time I had spent a fruitless 1/2 hour trying.

I do think that this could have been handled better.

Still, it's not likely that this will affect me next year, as LI will probably be in a brand new stadium in London. But I do wonder what ST booking worms will fall out when that particular can is opened.

Phoned up, renewed our 6. Appreciate it would be better through the web interface, but it's RFC's ticketing system we have to use...

Just tried to renew my season ticket and got a blank screen. i know Safari has its faults as a browser but LI should have got this right. Makes me wonder if they want existing supporters to renew.

I doubt website will be available this week as we Easties are all having to invade the west again and are not technically renewing our seat so the system can't cope. The only way is to go in person or to phone

I renewed mine yesterday in person at the madstad. Very easy, got to see where I could sit and didnít take long. However, there was only 2 young blokes manning the phones aswell as seeing to my in person transaction. Very pleasant but obviously short staffed.

I'd rather be a Paddy then a Quin!!

C'mon the boys in Green!!
