No link, just saw a tweet from Alex shaw who is very knowledgeable about age grade rugby, seems to suggest we have another very decent crop of youngsters coming through

Thanks, just checked it out, also worth reading his team by team analysis. Sounds like we've got a few decent players in the academy, especially in the forwards.

Think he may have been guessing at the team a little there as Wellington have put out the following tweet

Quote:
@RugbyWelly
Good luck to Marcus, Lucas, Monty and Robbie all involved for @AcademyIrish this weekend. #WeAreWellington

Doesn't mention (Will) Sinfield as Shaw does. Got a suspicion he may be too old as I think this is the first year that U19s (those in upper 6th with Sept to Dec birthdays I'm assuming) are not eligible. May be wrong on the interpretation, or his age there though.

Our Eng U18s are Munya (lock), Cokanasiga (12) and Rossiter (7) this season. Rossiter was injured in Wellington's final against Epsom the other week and wasn't mentioned in their tweet.

Marcus Rhodes (loosehead) looked really good in the game against Epsom. Pretty sure Lucas Brooke (back row) is Zinzan Brooke's son and Monty Bradbury (10) is meant to pretty special. Hopefully we'll be competitive this season, but next year may well be the real one to watch.

Cheers MW! Heard of the U18s (for obvious reasons), but know nothing of the others.

No worries. The commentators the other week mentioned that Will Greenwood (teaches at Wellington and does some coaching) said Bradbury is extremely talented and destined to play for England etc. Which is a pretty bold claim for a 16 year old, but Greenwood often gets a little over excited. Did also say though that he's also a decent cricketer, with county cricket teams also in for him.

Beat Exeter 36 - 20 in the first game.

No idea on the team sheet or scorers. Poor conditions though and sounds a decent effort.

Judging from a tweet from Alex shaw sounds like we've got a very promising prop coming through the ranks in luke green, he also had high praise for Phil cokanasiga.
