Feeling that if we can get a win then the road map back to the Premiership becomes reasonably clear.

Pretty good start against jersey to be fair. The away fixtures worry me. Need a strong performance to but the away day hoodoos to bed.

One things for sure,it won't be a low scoring match.Bedford can't stop a pig in an alley and our goalie keeps flapping at crosses. Why,s McLean not playing. We,ll know how good the kids are after this one. Slope + wind =(Sm95)

Poreki is out for a while with concussion but Fainga will be solid. DHA is long term injured again but Reid and Hoskins will do yhe job for us backed up by a solid group behind them. Myler out for maybe 8 weeks but we have good coverage there. The only worry is at fullback... not too impressed as yet with the Fijian lad.. fingers crossed for a bonus point win.

Real shame if Danny's out long term again. Bloke has no luck.

This is a huge game for us. Tricky enough that we could lose. Win and the path to promotion looks noticeably more comfortable.

By the sounds of Twitter Bedford have been in the ascendency / our discipline has been poor and we are picking up a fair amount of injuries - Ben loader and Meehan lost during the game and Matt Williams before

Vital try at the death there from Macken to stay in range. Today could still work out if we can get ourselves over the line in the second half.

Bit too tense for my liking though

Good to get the try just at the break, I didn't appreciate we were against the slope and wind in the first half, hoping for a big second half! If Ealing lose too could be a big weekend for us! Hope the injuries aren't serious...

Trev scores the BP try (16 - 26), Donny with a pen to edge back in front of Ealing.

God this is tense....

Edit - and Ealing now score.

Good result, especially as Ealing lost there. They are away at Cornish next week so a win over Coventry could put us 14pts ahead with 7 rounds left.

Hopefully the injuries aren't serious, although can see some rotation over the next two weeks regardless.

Should win comfortably all home games now until the Ealing match, which means that we can lose one out of the Yorkshire or Pirates away games and still be promoted before the Ealing game.

On the train now back from the game. Bedford were well up for this and caught us on counterattack but also had a period in the 1st half where they were the better team. The championship is an arm wrestle but look, we got the win however scrappy and must be there for promotion.Downside was injuries to the 2 Bens and Matt .

Matt was struggling to walk off, didn't actually see what happened to Meehan or loader, although Macken did keep on needing attention aswell everytime there was a stop in play

Loader was HIA and I guess failed, so concussion.

There wasnít anything obvious for your scrum half.

The winger was struggling before half time limping and Iím disappointed Blues failed to exploit this.

We had 3 or 4 good opportunities to score which we did not take and that was the difference ultimately.

Ben Loader was concussion and he did not look good which was a shame as he was playing well, Matt Williams had a Denver boot on and big limp so both will be out for a while I suspect. Ben Meehan wasnít obvious, maybe unwell? Brendan had some sort of leg strain but fairplay he carried on till the end. All injuries were in the 1st half so a lot of character to grind out the win.
Bedford are good side, big pack and fast backs and as Try Blue said they butchered a couple of chances. The try we got just before halftime was the turning point as we played downhill and with the wind in the 2nd half.

After watching the game Atkins at 10 and the Fijian 15 were very suspect in defence but whilst Bedford were solid and know how to play on their slope and a vert soft pitch, Irish looked good. The last try should have been called for interference but all in all a very tough game but an ugly bonus point win..

I donít see anything in that Fiji fifteen to inspire me. Very average, hope with all the big cash we are splashing around that he was just a cheap stopgap for a while. Not Premiership standard by any stretch.

He's not a 15 to be fair to him.

Not sure he's going to get much of a run at 10 though with Atkins and Keatley around.

At 10 or 15 he needs to beef up his defence significantly. Too many missed tackles at critical moments is not what we need to get back up where we should be.

11 minutes in, its pretty evident that we need an attack coach, I think we've got the players to play some decent rugby, but they're missing structure and direction

You've hit the nail on the head Florida. The structure just wasn't there despite some nice individual moments

Just watched that thanks.

As mentioned TJ looked lively. Some really aggressive carries. MOM for me
Thought Hoskins was pretty unlucky with his yellow. I know it was cumulative, but he looked like he was back ten to me when he tackled the Bedford player.
We miss Rogerson's go forward when he's not playing
Centres and Macken looked good
Lineout shaky at times although Tuisue proved useful as an option later on.

Plenty to work on, but toughed it out in the end. Real shame about the injuries to Williams and Loader. Meehan did look like he might just have been unwell, unless he had a knock at some point.

A mention for Stephenson who seems to have a great knack of beating players/ breaking through contact.

A decent structure has not been there for a long time, do not see any. Rolling Mauls and pure strength in depth of a squad will see us up. Can't honestly say that I have seen one game where a pattern of play is evident, especially in attack. Think that we are getting by but only just.
