Based on how well Tonga have previously done at world cups, I reckon he will be here for the start of the premiership season.

Tonga’s last group game is 13 Oct so with our first game a week later I think he’ll need a longer break.

Not sure if there’s a mandatory break although there probably should be

We could have a back row of TJ, Mafi and SOB

Mafi is more of a lock than flanker isn't he?

I'd chuck him in the second row and have a back row of Albert, TJ and SOB

Wouldn’t write off Rogerson.

Bit of a tasty pack now with the various iterations we could have,

Coleman
Mafi

TJ
Albert
SOB

------------------

Mafi
Botha

Rogerson
Albert
SOB

------------------

Coleman
Botha

Mafi
Albert
SOB

all looks pretty class at the moment. not to mention we still have Cowan and Van de Merwe

Agreed. He could really flourish with some other ball carriers around him in the back row. He is the most natural 8 we have in my opinion. The following back five looks very tasty to me:

4. Mafi
5. Coleman
6. Tuisue
7. SOB/Ioane
8. Rogerson

Not written him off, he's just not currently proven at this level. We'll get a good idea of his ability at the start of the season.

Mafi hasn't been named in the squad to face Samoa in the Pacific cup. could he be injured or is it form?

He's just come off a decent injury suffered playing for Castres.
