Finally, Someone who can talk some sense!

i just read through Conor's interview in this new online magazine thing. Seems like a decent guy, with a good attitude to rugby and quins. And unlike Kingston, Conor said "The ultimate goal is a hieneken cup spot, and each player to play to their abilities in every game"

read through the Magazine for yourself here-[www.union.quins.co.uk]

See what you think

If he brings a bit of Dave Brailsford with him that would be good.

That man is a genius and I don't like cycling or should I say I have no interest in cycling. I do love sport though and seeing that team trumping the rest of the world makes me very happy. Chris Hoy deserves every award he has got and Vicki Pendleton is the cutest girl with balls I have seen.

its the will to win and it is sorely lacking generally in the British attitude to sport. I thought that was what Martin Johnson was brought in to do but I think I was wrong.

I like the cut of this man's (COS) gib.

I would like to know how he looks younger now than when he played for Ireland because just recently I always look considerably older when I walk out of the Stoop than I did when I walked in two hours previously.

I had the pleasure of knowing a chap who was a longterm London Irish supporter and talent scout who sadly passed on a few years back.

After the funeral the wake for family and friends was held at the Clubhouse in Sunbury.

It was midweek and the ground was buzzing with players and various squads were training.

After a few hours Conor came up to the bar to meet the chap's wife and family.

He could have simply just paid his respects and left but he didn't. He stayed for well over an hour making a point of not just talking to the family but also many of the chap's oldest friends.

Needless to say his family were touched by the time he spent with them.

He comes across as a very a genuine man and on that point alone I am delighted to have someone with such integrity associated with Quins. In addition to his coaching and man management skills I think this will prove an important factor.

IMO I think he is just the right type of Director of Rugby for Quins and will prove worth waiting for however painful it has been.

I look forward to going to the Rec to see Quins put one over Barf.

Why is that "unlike Kingston"?

Because Kingston said we could make the play offs, but Conor knows what is realistic for us to achieve

I hope we will always aim for what is possible. I don't think we'll make the play offs but I hope that's what we're aiming for

I'm impressed so far.

Big night tomorrow night - and we still have to see the shape of the squad for next season.

Pity the guy couldn't start in January.....

The evening is full though. We don't have any places left for people who haven't already booked a place.

Will there be a report for those of us who can't make it / have not booked?

Please....?

I can't access the report from work, but if he brings some of the ruthlessness of the cycling approach (basically - you're cut and don't come back if you don't do what you're told and meet standards, no second chances) then we'll get stronger. Assuming that can translate to rugby as, obviously, it's a bit easier (usually) to judge individual performance on a bike...

Interesting....

- Will our guys have to buy their own bikes, or is Conor bringing them with? What will the opposition think when they see Our Valliant Lads take the field mounted?

Any questions people would like asked if I get the chance?

By the way, what time does the Meet the Management session kick off this evening? I booked my place way back - but I have entries in the diary for both 6.30 and 7pm
