Quote:So has Welsh's victory that lets them compete in the Premiership, in fact guarantee that they will never be able to actually compete?
Quote:I think it's all going to end in tears. What about their academy as well?
People seem to have written LW off already. I seem to recall similar thoughts about Worcester and Exeter when they were first promoted.
It's not all about money. The richest teams don't always do best, and the poorest teams aren't always the whipping boys. LW may well surprise people. I'm keeping an open mind till we see how their season begins.

How many of their players were Premiership dual registered?

I wondered that.
Quote:had to smile when Premier Rugby CEO Mark McCafferty deemed it a priority to meet the guys who will police the salary cap. Gaining promotion has opened the door to significant new funding for London Welsh but it will take some time before we can begin to compete with the likes of Leicester and Saracens.

I've just had a chance to read through the full judgement, and one thing has stood out for me. Apparently, apart from the three known exceptions to the Primacy of Tenure, there's been a fourth Premiership club that was allowed to *lose* PoT for at least one season (the implication is that it was for two seasons). So, apart from LI, Sarries, and Wasps, who would that be? Did Sale have PoT?
