HARLEQUINS HAS ANNOUNCED THE TEAM TO PLAY LEICESTER TIGERS IN ROUND 15 OF THE AVIVA PREMIERSHIP TOMORROW AT THE STOOP, KICK-OFF 19:45 (LIVE ON BT SPORT).

There are four changes to the side that played Bath Rugby. Nick Evans, who made his return from the replacements last week, starts at fly-half with Alofa Alofa named on the wing.

In the forwards Mark Lambert is selected at loosehead prop as George Merrick is named in the second-row. Merrick replaces Mark Reddish who suffered a concussion during last week’s match.

Stan South and Charlie Walker are among those who will provide cover from the replacements.

Speaking ahead of the match, Harlequins Director of Rugby, John Kingston, said: “We remain unbeaten at home in the Aviva Premiership, a record we are looking to continue against a very strong Leicester Tigers side.

“Our matches in recent years have been excellent encounters and I have no doubt it will be another mouth-watering clash as we look to close the gap on the five teams above us in the league.”

Tickets are still available for tomorrow's match and can be purchased by clicking here, or by calling 020 8410 6010.

Leicester's team

Lachlan McCaffrey and Peter Betham return to the Leicester Tigers team for Friday's Aviva Premiership Round 16 fixture away to Harlequins.
Back-rower McCaffrey has sat out the last four games but returns to line up alongside Brendon O'Connor and Mike Fitzgerald for the trip to The Twickenham Stoop.

Betham is in line for his 50th Tigers appearance, just 16 months after his debut, and joins Maxime Mermoz at centre.

There are changes in the front row, with starts for Ellis Genge, George McGuigan and Greg Bateman, while Harry Wells is brought in for his first start in the Aviva Premiership this season in the second row. Dom Barrow is named as captain for the first time on league duty.

Tigers head coach Aaron Mauger said: "We're happy with the improved performances in the last couple of weeks but there are still things to grow. The guys had their feet firmly on the ground in our reviews on Monday, we know there are things we want to tidy up but also there are some good things coming from what we have been working on during the week."

Great to see lambert back! But confused as Jackson had his best game in the quarters against Bath and now gets dropped this week.

More injuries for JK to hide behind after the final whistle!

Great to see Lambert back and Nev starting, shame no Visser. Also a shame that Swiel seems to have fallen out of favour, though Jackson has been playing well enough.

That is a very decent Tigers team though. Sadly can't make the match but I think it'll be a real struggle. Hopefully we'll return to premiership home form after the ~Edinburgh and Sale disappointments.

Think it could come down to the bench again, and their's does look stronger.

Anyway, COYQ

I understand putting Nev in for his game control against Tigers - but hope his kicking is back on form. Jackson was great against Bath.....

Our bench is hardly intimidating.

Perhaps his best is not considered to be on a par with Evans.

Surely Nev is now in "endangered species" territory and this must be one of the last few chances to see him in action at home?

Re: Team's up!
talkshowhost86 23 February, 2017 14:13
Player for player you have to go for Leicester, but our home form this season speaks for itself.

We have to win our home games if we have any hope of finishing top 6, so this is a big one. I think we'll struggle based on the lineups, but let's actually put it through the backs as we've done better in the last two games and just take the game to them.

COYQ!

Yep, it says that tickets are still available. For a Friday evening game with a fairly good possibility of poor weather. Who'd have thought it...

It's still surprising there's tickets available. Leicester is always one of the bigger ones of the season so it's a shame if it's not full.

It would be odd if anyone wasn't going for rugby reasons though. If we win this we're right behind Leicester and in with a chance of finishing above them...unthinkable really considering how poor we've been this season.

Wight, Dover, Twickenham - NW backing WSW later, force 3 - 2; calm; fair; good becoming moderate later.

Dry pitch, fanned by strong winds tonight, moderating throughout tomorrow: a hat and cup of ovaltine and you'll be alright, Quinky...

I'd guess that there's a convention that International announcements by the clubs can only be done after the announcement by the National side in question. As both Scotland and our squad announcements were on the same day and around the same side, the club would have deferred to SRU to announce that Visser would be playing at Muddyfield.

I agree ,its getting to the sharp end now and this is a 'big' game for both teams as far as defining their respective seasons . Im expecting a hard fought close game .Tigers have a strong side out , lets hope we can match their intensity.

Brings back memories of that AngloWelsh game against the Tiggers a few years back where the weather was so bad the game was called off in the 67th minute! What always amazed me about that game was that some 20 minutes later, the weather was fine!

Apart from a block of around 70 seats right at the back of the south stand, only single seats are available. Still over 14,000 sold.

Oh come ON...

It's a Friday night game on a 6 nations weekend. The game won't end until 915pm.

Most people who bring kids say they can't go to Friday night games and a lot of people with jobs who don't live near Twickenham also routinely can't make Friday night.

So yes, it says it all, it says it's like every other Friday night game has always been.

I bought tickets last week for the Newcastle game, which is at the end of March. Barely any left, mostly singles. Which also says it all. Particularly in a less than stellar season, against opposition who aren't traditionally a massive draw (though they're playing really well at the moment).
