Didn't we also announce that a prop from the Gloucester (academy?) had signed?

Josh McNailty I think - I got the impression he would be joining the senior squad.

Any ideas?

Indeed.

Worrying that we've not seen any incomings recently, but it seems very quiet across the board on that front in the Premiership so I think it's just a lull whilst everyone recovers from end of season and whilst lots of players are on various international tours.

Getting a little concerned as we are now in mid June about the lack of any new rumours/chat about new signings. Thought JK had mentioned it was likely we would add a few new faces.

The weak areas to me seem to be Centre and Lock. In the former can we rely on Lowe and Dloan being fully match fit for the sart of the season following long lay offs.

For the latter do we know if Reddish has gone back to to Oz or is he still with us, Twomey also has had a long lay off so will be ready to start ? the new season.

I renewed my season ticket on the basis we were promised an improvement over the poor showing last season.

A ever the club bomards us with info. about merchandising/promotions etc but is very lax/poor about giving us updates on the one area we consider to be vital and the reason for supporting the club...the playing staff.

A simple update on the injury situation on the players mentioned would do for starters.

Josh McNulty (joining as TH from Gloucs). He's 23, so I'm assuming it's a senior contract....

Lewis Boyce is the name of the Yorkshire lad joining us as a Loosehead.

And don't forget we also have Phil Swainston joining as a TH. That I would guess will mean that Bomb's appearances will be cameos depending on injuries....

Looking at the linked source they have got it wrong, I hope anyway, as this is the only mention of Jonas in the article " Ed Sheldon, National 1’s second top try scorer last season – behind Hartpury’s own Jonas Mikalcius – also joins from Mosely."

Mikalcius is/was studying at Hartpury last season. We signed him into the academy, but loaned him back as it made sense to allow him to continue his playing where he was studying. I would guess that's still the case.

I agree. It has been quiet.

Wasps, Saracens, Exeter, Worcester and Newcastle are probably done when it comes to new signings but the other 7 clubs (including us) will surely have more business to do.

Sale have made some interesting signings but they're still very light on locks (maybe as few as two out and out locks in their squad IIRC?).

Gloucester have made a lot of signings but will want to replace Fearns and have a shed load of cash to do it with now (like what I did there?).

Similarly, Saints need to replace Picamoles and look light across their back line. Surely they will spend the cash from Montpellier?

Bath have made some good additions with Underhill and Burns, but their squad still looks threadbare and they have a few long term injuries too.

O'Connor has made a couple of signings but will surely want to put his stamp on Tigers.

London Irish have made a truck load of average signings but need more quality.

Plenty of business to be done I'd say.

Surely someone's mate living next door to Kingston's nephew's dog sitter has heard something?

What about Gatland Jnr? or Barretts (J, K), the Younger? What happened to Mike A. Fiat-Koala?

Well, the club have just posted a video on YouTube showing the squad back in training. Only thing that caught my eye immediately is that Bomb seems pretty much in the Coaching camp rather than playing camp. I base that off the fact that all the other players are wearing the new fluorescent training shirt, while he is wearing the same shirt as NEv and Minty. Feel free to trawl through it for any other nuggets of speculation!

Yep! Preseason for the squad in general started a couple of weeks ago. The guys who toured with England are on holiday (Chris Robshaw at least has been on holiday this week according to twitter), and I would guess that Joe & Kyle will have at least 3 weeks after the Lions tour before starting training again...

Maybe this guy???

Jake Hennessey – King’s College School Wimbledon

Centre
DOB: 15/10/1998
Height: 5’10”
Weight: 85 kg

Hennessey captained Harlequins to the U18s title this year and has also played for Scotland U19s this season. Alongside his rugby next season, the centre will also study full time at university. Like Head, Hennessey played in all of the fixtures this season and scored two hat-tricks in the tournament, one against Bristol Rugby and one against Gloucester.

JHE so as not to confuse with James Horwill??? (although I doubt they are the same size)!!

Care uncertainty was pretty much over when he appeared front and centre in all the brochures for 17/18. But also his contract isn't up for a year - likewise Brown.

Roberts (perhaps the most likely to have turned out to be true of the speculation) is going nowhere either and mentioned in today's "return to training" post by Quins.

Same goes for Jackson.

Reddish retired from rugby.
