Teams up - Kyle Sinckler to make 100th appearance for Harlequins

Harlequins has announced the squad to play Northampton Saints in the final Round of the Aviva Premiership, at Franklin’s Gardens, on Saturday, kick-off 16:00 (live on BT Sport).

There is just one change to the matchday squad that played Wasps. Danny Care has failed to recover from an oblique injury sustained last weekend and is replaced by Karl Dickson who, alongside Nick Evans, makes his last Premiership appearance for the Club.

Care is expected to make a full recovery ahead of England’s tour to Argentina.

Tighthead prop Kyle Sinckler will make his 100th appearance for the Club.

In Care’s absence, James Horwill captains the side and is assisted by vice-captain Mike Brown.

Speaking ahead of the match, Harlequins Director of Rugby, John Kingston said: “There is obviously a big prize at stake on Saturday with automatic qualification to the Champions Cup up for grabs.

“Our challenge is to bring the same level of skill and intensity to our performance that we showed in the victory against Wasps last week.

“Northampton have had a difficult time of late, but only a repetition of that form we showed last week will get the job done."

Their big guns are back.........

The Northampton Saints team has been named for final home match of the 2016/17 Aviva Premiership season against Harlequins.
There are a number of changes to the team which began last week’s game at Exeter. George North, Louis Picamoles and Tom Wood are all back in the starting line-up, while a shoulder injury sustained by JJ Hanrahan at Sandy Park means that Harry Mallinder lines up at fly half with Nafi Tuitavake coming into the centres.

Tickets are rapidly selling out for the must-win finale to the Aviva Premiership season, and there is now limited availability within the stadium bowl. Groups of supporters can watch together in Gordon Terrace Blocks B and D; to book tickets head to www.northamptonsaints.co.uk/buytickets and use Print@Home to beat the match day queues and save the admin fees.

Some reminders for supporters heading to tomorrow’s game.

Kick off is at the later-than-usual time of 4pm

Allow additional time for your journeys to Franklin’s Gardens to allow for extensive roadworks on Weedon Road in the area immediately surrounding the stadium

Immediately after the game there will be a presentation of framed shirts to players who are leaving the Saints this summer

The Village Trinity Store has an end-of-season sale with 40% off everything in the shop!

Will be interesting to see how fit the likes of Picamoles, North and Wood are, got a feeling they have been rushed back from injury. Two very strong, equally matched teams. Going to be tight, which can only help us!!!!

That's as good as we can hope for.

JK's view was that Saints have lost matches in the last quarter recently and if we stay in touch they could be vulnerable at the end. We shall see!

An oblique injury? What does that mean?

Anyway...A lot depends on Northampton's fitness and whether we are able to finally replicate a home performance whilst on our travels.

If we play like we did against Wasps, particularly defensively, then we'll give them a good game. If we don't then they've got more than enough talent to punish us.

Heart says Quins. Head says Northampton by more than 7.

There was a suspicion Saints rested these players for the Exeter game. So they may be fitter than expected.

Interesting to see this is likely to be the Dickson brothers last games for their clubs.

An oblique injury? What does that mean?

The oblique muscle. No doubt pulled or strained...

Incredible to see Kyle playing his 100th game already. He has many years ahead of him and I hope they're all with Quins.

Team looks strong, let's hope they're up for this one.

I spoke to Rob Buchanan after the home game vs Saints and he said Northampton don't like the physicality and by smashing them early they went into their shells. Expect an explosive first 10-15 mins from us.

Sounds like the prematch huddle should be led by Corporal Jones

Isn't that what Northampton also said about us before the match at the Stoop? I seem to remember the post match interview with sinckler and him laughing about it.. In fact, here it is

Two fairly evenly matched teams I'd so, so composure and discipline likely to be the key. Really need to start both halves well

What's happened to all the Pisis? Left, injured or down pecking order?

Think home advantage will see them win, but hope we can get close enough for the LBP or even a try bonus.

If we lose badly by reverting to kicking away ball and making silly errors then sadly last week's result and performance counts for little other than a good send off for the leavers.

Looking forward to watching this one and hopeful we can get the match points we need

I know everyone likes to know the odds.......... ;-)

Northampton are 6 point favourites. Could be a squeaky bum afternoon.

well as long as that doesn't include them getting a try bonus, then as disappointed as I will be with losing, I will take that as we stay in 6th. smileys with beer

Id like to see us getting Yarde one on one with Foden as much as possible this afternoon, a repeat of Visser v North from the 6 nations would also be welcome.

North won't want to put his Lions place in doubt so will want to look good but wont risk an injury so stick a few bombs on him and let Visser and Wallace hit him, he'll disappear after that.

Or so I can wish 😜
