Premiership Ins and Outs

I'm not sure if this has been posted elsewhere.

telegraph

Marfo off to Edinburgh, Sam Stuart to Falcons. Sam Egerton who I believe we briefly had on loan has retired. No mention of Robson leaving Irish.

Also Milkacius has left us for Hartpury but assume that's wrong.

Mikalcius is still in our Academy, but on dual contract with to Hartpury as he is studying there. That's why he featured a lot for them last season.

Uninspiring.

Gloucester appear to be the new Bath.

Yes, that's T-Bone's point. Loads of young players are on dual contracts, so he's not an "out" - the report is incorrect.

Actually, if you look at the Hartpury website, Jonas isn't listed as a player.

I think they got that list from Wikipedia, which says it all

Yes, sorry, to clarify, was well aware of Jonas' (easier to spell) dual registration. There are quite a few errors in that list anyway.

Lot of people being cleared out at Worcester. Ford the younger jo9ining the elder at Tigers. Not that much movement though really

Yeah we've actually done quite a bit of business compared to a lot of clubs.

I wonder if there's still a few 'transfers' to be done, or whether this is basically it for the lineups for the start of the season.

Looks like the Falcons have been very smart. I'm not looking forward to going to Kingston Park, especially as it has been a bit of a bogey ground for us recently.

I'd say If Newcastle have won the transfers then Saints have lost - surely they have a big name still to announce?

Probably true, though Wasps are a contender for that spot I Think and not just because they brought in June Porno Salad!

Looking at the list, a lot of clubs are showing 'Academy promotions's', I would have thought we'd have heard about Piper, South and Cheeseman being promoted (or not) as their 3 years are up in the Academy. I've seen Cheeseman in one of the Quin's training video's this pre-season so guess he's still around, don't know about the other two.

They wished South happy birthday today on twitter, so can assume he's still about

Piper doesn't seem to feature that much in our LV games, presumably as we have 3 first team hookers all at a fairly similar standard, and then Elia Elia too. Not sure if he's been injured, and didn't watch much if any A league last season, so I don't know if he's still rated or possibly on his way out

I think (but stand to be corrected) that Piper has had his share of injury trouble in the last few years. When he has been available he seems to feature quite often for Rosslyn park

There's a report from Wales suggesting Saints will sign Biggar.

He was certainly back playing at the last A league game at Bath so guess he's over his injuries now

Elia Elia re-signed this summer. He also started for Samoa a couple of times over the summer I believe.

No idea how good he is thought TBH? Never seen him play.

I may be wrong, but I don't think Elia was involved in any squads this summer for Samoa

True, but he's only 21 and was the hooker for Samoa's Under 20 side who won the second tier "World Rugby Trophy" in 2016.

Given he's getting picked for the full side at 21, it's probably worth waiting to see what he's like....
