Does anyone know when Jamie Roberts contract is up?

I was listening to a podcast in which they stated he was on 350K a year, I cant say he's been totally naff, but not 350K level surely. Maybe I'm too harsh.

end of this season i believe.

Though I may be wrong.

He has only played 31 matches for us since joining us in December 2015. I know he is an international but surely players like Marler, Brown, Robshaw etc have played more games for Quins in that timeframe too.

I'm a journalist and I would be gobsmacked if Quins were paying Jamie anything near 350k... not because he's a bad player but because he only played half a season in year one and was always going to be involved with Wales in year two. That would have been factored in.

Neale we like your work and know you wouldn't use such tactics.

Also, I'm sure I read in TRP this weekend that Josh Matavesi is on £300k at Falcons.... now that would make Roberts a steal at £350-380k!!!

Roberts was one of COS's signings. I like the guys attitude, but for that money I'd expect him a lot more visible than he is.

Come on, give the guy a break. He needs to be given time to turn it around. He might be able to improve himself and the team. There's only been a couple of games this season.

Hey, I'm not saying sack him or anything. But he really didn't feature much last year (I know he only had half a season). I'd certainly say check he was value for money before signing another contract, but he has time to prove that.

I think most people expected more of an impact from Roberts. Whether they are right to be disappointed or whether they were overly optimistic remains questionable. It was known that he wouldn't play a full season to begin with, and he was expected to be called up for Wales. His performances haven't been as effective as his historical play, but that could be due to age, or the fact that opposition has worked out how to nullify him. He does still influence a game, and it's said that his work with the younger players is also important.

Would that make him worth 350k (or anything like that)? I don't think so, but that's just my opinion.

In November 2015 he said that he had 2 1/2 years left in London. This means that 2017/18 is his last season:

Quote:
The wealth of life experience is worth more than any amount of money. Putting yourself in new environments, challenging situations and meeting new people is more important than anything else. I will just have to find what my next challenge is! I have two and a half years left in London and have just bought a flat in Wandsworth Town with an old mate of mine who I have known since I was four who is now a barrister in the City.

Just to clear something up, I'm a Logistics Operator from Staines, not a journalist.

Exactly what a journalist would say.
