It's all a bit topsy turvy. Irish looked good against us (no, they did - it wasn't just us!) but haven't won since. Northampton looked still on the beach against Saracens, but pulled off a great win against Tigers and then Bath. Gloucester beat Chiefs then lost to us. Sharks lost to Wasps, lost by a point to Falcons in a pretty turgid game then thump Irish by nearly 30 points. Bath beat Leicester, beat Saracens then lost to convincingly to Saints.

On this basis, the home game against Leicester looks like the most likely win of Wasps, Tigers, Saints. Who would have thought that when I started watching Harlequins in the mid 90s?

Slightly off topic, but should teams get a bonus point for every 4th try?

For example a team winning with 8 tries would get 6 points (4 for the win + 2 for the 8 tries)

Sure. There's an in-built assumption in your question that teams have started to try less hard to win their away matches than they do their home games. And I disagree with that - this isn't France. I've done a bit of digging into the stats and it appears to be relatively flat. In the 2002-03 season, as an example, the home win percentage was 67%. That's identical to the home win percentage in 2015-16, with the 2016-17 season coming in a fraction higher at 69%.

I haven't had time to dig into all the seasons, but that suggests a certain degree of evenness over the years, from which you can conclude that a "typical" home win percentage is between 65-70% across an entire season. Your 75% stat came from a sample size of two matches, and after this weekend it's now at the 67% mark for the season. So I don't think there's any cause for concern.

Home advantage has been scientifically proven to be down to the referee:

Article laying out experiment conducted.

You can read it on the link, but in essence referees subconsciously favor the home team, this may only make a difference on 5 - 10 decisions a game, but that can turn the game.

In addition there is no record-able home advantage in sports that are not run by referee's interpretation, such as athletics and weight lifting.

Maybe there's no home advantage because there's no one watching

Indeed. Surely the very definition of an experiment gone wrong.

That doesn't pass for science does it? Looks like a 13-year old's science project. 1 match, 6 refs, completely ridiculous circumstances?
