Thought he went really well today, and pleasing to see him come through a nasty headknock, I feared the worst when I saw the replay. Should he have gone off though? Hope we don't regret that down the line. With him and Luamanu our carrying was really powerful at times, we smashed the gainline repeatedly.

Agreed they helped us get over the gainline more than we've seen for quite a while particularly away from home.

Clifford also put in a great defensive effort today and looked more at home at 7 than 6.

Generally I think the balance looked much better in the back row. Probably born out of not having a makeshift option (Ward) in there.

Best game I've seen him play since he came back from injury. Maybe the no.7 shirt suits him better.

The way he flew into the defender when he made the break was very pleasing. Him and Marchant looked men possessed when carrying today, although I'm not sure why Marchant has taken to burying the ball under one arm when deciding to take contact - he keeps beating the first man so keeping his offloading options open would be good.

I thought Merrick put in a massive shift too. great carrying ability and huge clear outs. No wonder Eddie Jones ear marked him last season

Thought the break that led to the winning penalty was the icing on the cake of a great performance.Hopefully getting back to that pre-injury form.
