La Rochelle - By Rail

Advance booking for trains between Paris and La Rochelle is now open.

I used the Loco2 website [loco2.com]

Direct TGV trains go from Paris Montparnasse to La Rochelle Ville and take about 2.5hrs. I booked to go Friday 19th and return Monday 22nd. Printed the tickets at home.

Total return cost for 2 = 150. I might add that these could have been cheaper but we are both over 60 and get a small discount so I booked 1st class seats. I reckon 2 could travel for less than 100 using economy.

I booked tickets to Paris separately using Eurostar allowing a decent transfer window.

Its an option worth considering.

This is a pleasing revelation. Thanks JQT!

I'm going to see Jim Jefferies on the Friday, but if the game is on Sat/Sun, I'll be there!

I'm sure you could find an unfunny, shouty Aussie in France to bore you for 90 minutes before the game, then you don't have to choose between the two! (only joking)
