Would guess whether he plays tomorrow or not may be a clue.

Diamond growled a denial, "as far as he knew" lol, but the pundits seem totally convinced including Ugo.

Well, seeing as he's still under contract, Sale can't officially talk to hin 'til January unless the club have agreed to talk. In which case, we should be talking about compensation from Sale. Plus, is there any chance we'd look at Charnley who will have been pushed down the pecking order even further?

Frees up a bit of cash for us

Difference to the 400k injury money is we were already spending it on Yarde, its not extra cash

Shouldn't the title of this thread simply be "Yarde Sale"?
(sorry)

I wonder if someone from Sale had made an "understanding" of severely increased pay and Marland was using that to either get more at Harlequins or get out. Sounds a bit like the James Johnson thing to me - frankly if you don't want to play for the team (for whatever reason) then I'd rather you went and went quickly.

It's just another sign that Rugby Football is meandering down the path taken by Association Football. In theory, clubs are not allowed to approach a player until January - in practice, the player's agent lets it be known that a certain player is open to offers. In legal terms, no rules have been broken.
The interesting bit is that presumably, as Marland had not cmpleted his contract, Sale would have had to pay a fee to buy out that contract. I bloomin well hope we drove a hard bargain.
Remember the rumours about Care and Brown last year? There was general joy when they announced they were staying...but they hadn't re-signed, they just decided not to break their contracts.
Visser, Roberts, Care, Brown will be indications of what is happening at the club when the time comes to put pen to paper. These announcements should be within the next 3-4 months I'd guess.

It's really not. It's a sign that yarde is a **** and Quins are in shambles.
And more proof if it were needed that we have no bloody cash.
Doubtless well be scouring nd1 for a suitable replacement.

WTF when was the last time a 1st choice player left mid season to join another premiership club?
How badly is the club being run that either Yarde felt he had no choice to leave or the club were unable to enforce his contract?

So the club are at fault and not Yarde? What has the club done wrong again?

"He is a bit of a character. He has probably blown a bit of his career by being too big for his boots. He's back down to earth now and has the potential to be a really special player for us.
"I got him into camp and had a look at him. He had a bit of an attitude on him, so I sorted that out. From there on in, he's been really wanting to get better."

Sale fan - we are more confused than you, we have great depth at Wing and even have Paolo out on loan and I would have him in the team in a heartbeat after last seasons performances for us.
Now if you had some quality tight 5 players looking for a change..........

For what it's worth, this from the Guardian:
Steve Diamond, Sale’s director of rugby, ... denied that Marland Yarde was set to join the club. Reports have suggested Yarde has left Harlequins less than a week after he was dropped for disciplinary reasons. Ugo Monye claimed the 25-year-old England winger has agreed to join the Sharks but Diamond said: “He must know more than we do then. There is no done deal as far as I’m concerned.”
Actually, now that I read it again, this sounds more like a confirmation than a denial. That there is "no done deal" suggests to me that there is indeed a not yet done deal.

Following the controversy surrounding Solomona's arrival , hardly surprising that Diamond chooses his words carefully .

Early last season I was impressed with Sale's Edwards/Odogwu wing partnership. Amazes me that Diamond is such a wing collector that he's pretty much binned both of them.
Be careful what you wish for on the tight five front. It must be your turn to get Paul Doran Jones soon...

This seriously needs a club statement. Too many unanswered questions to let this one drift. It's so abnormal that I can't see how they'll be able to leave it unexplained, as painful as the explanation could be.

Is Solomona not with the lady that used To be with Yarde? If the move is true Sale won't need a DOR they will need Jeremy Kyle! At least media city is not far away!
