Easter on TV is pretty clear about defensive stuff, what's happening, where people should be etc... Been impressed with him there. Flats said it was more we weren't communicating on the pitch, ensuring people knew who would tackle, who would stand off. He said there are no hugely complicated defence lines run, because everyone is super tired at the end of a game its got to be simple. So I'm hoping the last game (which we won by the way!) is just an aberration and the coaches (and the players!) can fix the problems before the next one.

If the last game was an aberration then what about the others where we've conceded over 30 points this season, including one a against a team who've really been struggling? Can't have it both ways.

You can only excuse so many games where we've defended well for 60 minutes but then switched off for 20, or defended well save for various momentary lapses which have resulted in 4 tries being run in, or games where the team as a whole have defended well but individual players have been at fault resulting in 30+ points being shipped. It all adds up to the same thing really, which is that our defence this season has been a real problem.

Teams seem to make very easy yards against us. Compare us hammering away inside the oppositions 22 for phase after phase to other teams who seem to make 5 to 10 metres each carry. We had no answer to Worcester's offloading on Saturday (other than to score more points, thankfully)

Yeah to suggest the last game was an aberration is really ignoring what's gone before.

On average we've conceded over 28 points per game in the league (over 30 if you include the Champions Cup) and 3.5 tries per game in the league (over 3.7 in total).

It's very clear that the Worcester game wasn't a one off.

I didn't suggest the last game was an aberration, I said I was hoping it was.

That doesn't make sense...

I hope that bus is blue.

It's not blue, it's red.

I didn't say it WAS blue, I said I HOPED it was blue.

Well aberration means something out of the ordinary - so regardless of our hopes and dreams it is a fact that conceding 30 points in a game does not currently constitute one.

Doing so at home to Worcester is a bit alarming, however.
