Champions Cup - How likely?

How likely are we to get through to the next round?

I booked flights for the Ulster match but am wondering now if it's worth the cost of a weekend away if the match is irrelevant.

I'm no good at working out the various outcomes but is there ANY chance that we could go through still if we beat Ulster? (I know it will depend on other results in the next rounds).

All games for us from now on will be pointless (IYKWIM), still fun though probably!

Very unlikely but never say never, would have to win all remaining pool matches to have a realistic chance.

We'll need to win in Ulster and (far more unlikely) La Rochelle. Still going to Belfast, though. Why wouldn't you?

True, it will be a fun weekend whatever!

I've been waiting for an Ulster match to come up as I've seen us away at Connaught, Leinster and Munster so want the set!

I can't see us winning one game to be honest.
Go and have a great time - if we do win, it's a bonus!!
I've been on so many away trips where we've lost that I adopted that approach years ago.
There was no point in being grumpy all the way home.

If we go just intending to enjoy the rugby, not expecting or fussing over the result, we'll probably win!

We will probably win one pool match, right at the end, when there's nothing to play for. The club PR machine will then hype it up (they're really good at proffering technically correct yet misleading statistics that make us sound good) e.g. "Quins has only lost one home game since September in the Premiership other than the defeats by ... and ..."

That will then make Ellis et al say, "Oh well, JK can't be that bad ... we've beaten x in Europe after all ..."

Would think it will be a great away day spoiled by 80minutes of rugby

When I have seen Ulster plays this, they haven't been great and we should definitely be aiming to beat them at the Stoop. Then the reverse fixture will be tough with both teams knowing it would be difficult but not impossible to qualify. Don't think we will, but there is still hope. There is still 20 points to play for, and we are mo than capable getting close to that if we play to our potential, especially with the games in this pool being very high scoring so far.

I'd definitely still be going if I'd booked tickets. Why not. Will be good fun.

I reckon we should beat them at home, and maybe Wasps too, depending on what is riding on that game for both teams at the time.

Beat ulster home and away ...stuff wasps and La Rochelle ... Sarries in the Quarters , Toulon away in the Semis , Clermont in the Final ..week in Bilbao ...sunshine , beer , rugby , beaches ....

......is that the alarm ?...that night flew by ...

Oh well , one step at a time ..and might as well enjoy the hospitality of Belfast in the meantime ...
