Apprentice players Zach Mercer and Marcus Smith, who were not available for selection, have returned to Harlequins and Bath respectively.

Marcus was never going to play, was just there to get the feel of it. He also suffered a minor injury in training I believe

Sorry - I should have made clear they said something like "Richard Cockerill, coach of Leicester tigers, said..." (and yes, I did check it was November 2017!). Couldn't find the article again.
