Licence laws allow you to open anytime apart from Xmas day I think

Indeed. But the dull answer is Twickenham - Blucher; Sussex, Three Kings, Cabbage Patch, etc etc none open before 1200 on a sunday

Possibly, but the licensing laws precluding sunday opening before midday were repealed in 2003. You said you didn't think pubs could open before 12 - i suggest you speak to our erstwhile friend from the ww ellis. Just because a pub with no footfall before noon on a typical sunday sees no merit in paying somebody the price of a couple of pints for an hour's work doesn't mean it's a big deal when they decide to open their doors an hour early once a year.

Jesus Christ, I just said I didn't think they could, as in "I didn't think they could", based on, you know, thinking. Hence being interested to learn what i thought was in fact incorrect. I am glad to be far too interesting to know anything about the intricacies of licensing laws.
