He's been deemed surplus to requirements at the Reds. He's a fairly controversial figure but how would people feel about him as a short term injury replacement* for the Cat to lighten Smith's workload?

* I highly doubt we would spend the cash anyway!

Tough one to call. Cooper when he doesn't care is a total liability. Remember him in France?

Not for us. Japan probably. Well past his best these days & a defensive liability. Still under contract with QRU but new head coach Brad Thorn has issues with him & clearly has decided he doesnít want him around. Interesting to see how Thorn goes as a head coach. Heíll certainly shake things up & get guys working harder!

Fanski "follows" Quins; whether his opinion on the ability of the squad/management could be considered supportive is a different matter...

No disrespect - its only an observation...

Back to Cooper...I've watched a lot of Super Rugby, and he's still incredibly skillful, but is no longer particularly consistent over the whole 80 minutes. Essentially, he's great for a youtube video but I wouldn't take him at Quins purely because of the consistent control needed from a 10 for an Aviva Premiership match.

I'd much rather we looked at Nick Frisby, who's also been told he's not wanted by the Reds, as a back up for Danny.

Frisby is awful, he would be a disaster here. BTW Cooper's salary is still going to be paid by the QRU so he might not cost that much. If you want a good former Red, might look at Liam Gill, a really good 7 who hasnt fulfilled his potential by a huge distance. He's in France at the moment. Some really good talent coming through the Queensland U20 system at the moment. Like I said above, Brad Thorn is going to be a very interesting coach with these youngsters.

Haven't the Queensland U20s been pretty dominant for the last few years in their domestic comp?? They have seem very good players but just lack a little bit of quality where it matters. Like seeing them do well

Apparently Cooper is target of Dragons as a second Marquee signing.
