Harlequins has named the matchday 23 to face Newcastle Falcons in Round 11 of the Aviva Premiership on Saturday 23rd December (kick-off 15:00).

Chris Robshaw is one of seven changes to the starting 15 from the defeat away to Ulster and will pull on the quartered shirt for the 250th time, against Falcons.

His sestercentennial appearance comes more than 12 years after his debut for the Club; captaining Harlequins in the 2011 Amlin Challenge Cup Final and 2012 Aviva Premiership Final.

Robshaw is only the third player to have achieved this feat for the Club in the professional era, alongside Mike Brown (290) and Nick Easter (281).

Joe Marler, Ben Glynn and James Chisholm all come in while Mike Brown, Tim Visser and Jono Kitto are named to start in the backs.

Ahead of the match, Harlequins Director of Rugby, John Kingston said: ďNewcastle have had a good season to date with some notable victories in the Aviva Premiership.

"We have three huge league matches over the holiday period and are determined to put ourselves into a strong position for later in the season.Ē

Hopefully enough to see that lot off . Hate Richards with a passion after what he did to our club

Shame that Elia is apparently out (have we had any info on that?) and no Danny is a worry as he's been the catalyst for most good things from Quins in recent weeks.

Still, if you look at the two lineups, there really is no excuse for Quins not winning this.

But Sinoti Sinoti is our bogie player and is bound to bag a brace.

Horwill and Ellia are the big loss for me. Like the look of the back row. Good to see Glynn playing lock rather than back row

Our back row looks very solid which is good to see, plus Luamanu off the bench is a great option.

Merrick and Glynn looks pretty weak, but both should put in a decent shift.

It's still far from ideal, but we're slowly starting to see players creep back into the team so lets hope we can convert that into some points.

Absent Care and Horwill, that's about as strong a team as we can put out, and the bench is better than we've had in many games.

I'll be interested to see how that back row goes; if they gel it could be a good mix of guile and power.

Their backs are a concern particularly considering our inability to tackle anybody for most of the season.

If the conditions are right, I'd expect this one to be fairly high-scoring.

I predict 3 tries coming from multiple missed tackles in midfield, starting in their half and less than 5 phases.

Apparently JK has tweaked our primary goal, which is now to score at least 11 tries.

Saili still concussed, now Danny not back from HIA, Horwill and Elia out too....hmmmm

JK originally put end of December as return for a few others but no sign and looks like our injury list still vast....

Dave Lewis is back earlier than expected which is good news.
Disappointing still no Saili & no Danny Care
Did Ross Chisholm picked up a knock Monday? I'm surprised he isn't on the bench ahead of Cheeseman.

Cheeseman probably covers more positions as a bench player.

Same for me, as well as no Care being a big loss.

When Luamanu comes on it will be interesting to see who he replaces.

Looking at the teams on paper there should be no question we should win - but we are Quins - we are inconsistent - will we keep disciplined and no stupid penalties as of late but COYQ we should do it

Glad Robshaw and Brown are playing - this is the classic kind of fixture that we are terrible at getting motivated for (away, long trip, xmas eve, not sarries) so to have two big leaders there is a relief. No Care/Horwill though, could go either way. #COYQ

Think a few are really underestimating that Falcons side
Some real quality there, and itís not that often we have a good trip to Kingston Park
If we turn up could well be an evenly matched game, if we donít Snotti and Goneva will make us pay

Danny Care was on the Plane to the Toon today so maybe still a possibility? Safe journey to those coming up. Should be close to a sell out.

We have not factored in the last minute changes!!! The original team sheet that came out had Luamanu starting (but quickly changed, Bothma was missing)

Historically weíve never done well at Kingston Park and with the history between the teams itís gonna be a tough contest oop north. Iíd expect a tight contest between the packs but with the addition of Bothma I think we might edge it. As long as we get the ball away quickly to our back three it should be a win away from home. Shame, itís not being televised.

Newcastle are no slouches these days and we underestimate them at our peril. Socino, Sinoti and Goneva very strong and effective ball-carriers. This will be close.
