Had a lineout on Newcastle 5m line. Did our usual "couldn't punch a hole in a wet paper bag" offence, lost the ball and now it's back near our 22. Chisolm earns us a scrum.
Lovely attack by Newcastle. The no 12 ran through about 4/5 of our men. Luke Pierce asks if it was held up over the line. Good attempt by their no 5 Witty. No conclusive view for TMO. Scrum 5. Harlequins play get out of jail card!
Harum Scarum stuff. We lose possession, they lose possession. We're still stuck in our half. Lucky kick from Brown gets lineout inside Newcastle 22. Newcastle gather OK. Sinckler pinged for slapping ball in the maul. So another stupid penalty.
So scrum about half way into the Harlequins half. 10 minutes to go. Harlequins put in. We try and run it out. Fortunate their 5 was in the way of getting the ball out a maul. Our lineout on Newcastle 22
Lineout, maul, tackle. Bothma runs with it, caught in possession, holding on. Penalty Newcastle. that actually took longer than I expected to screw up!
45 seconds left. Newcastle maul. Harlequins held it up so our scrum. Last play of first half. Scrum penalty organised by the Robshaws. Lineout in Newcastle half just by 10m line. Still no penetration. Knock on
I don’t think it’s about not caring, it just think our confidence is rock bottom our DoR and coaches are not those that inspire or build confidence. That is a good Quins team on the pitch, they just are not playing well and that is down to leadership and coaching.
Well we can't even use the excuse of having a weak team out. It's pretty soul destroying really when all you want is for your team to play well and try.
