Travelling to Sale on Saturday by Train and have no idea on the best way to get from Manchester Piccadilly railway station to the ground and then back again.

I have done it in the past but always by car so somewhat in the dark for this year!

If anyone can help i would be very grateful ,and also is there a preferred drinking establishment for Quins fans in the area who are also travelling?

Happy new Year all and of course COYQ!

I can't guarantee that this the best, but it has worked for me in the past: Take the tram to Eccles and then bus 67 which goes past the road leading into the ground.

I usually get a drink in the marquee outside the front entrance. There isnt much nearby as its a bit of a wasteland around there.

Thereís a pub outside the ground opened last season
But it gets very busy
Now the bridge is open thereís a few options near Trafford centre, also castles in the air pub, and thatís about 15 min walk now the bridge is open

Hello Si ,

I have a sister that lives in Eccles and above travel info is correct , its about 30 mins on the Eccles tram from Piccadilly then you can get the 67 or 100 bus to the stadium (its next to the tram stop and takes 10 mins) - take some change with you .

Cant make this one , have a good day .. Cheers Phil

If there's more than one of you get a taxi from Eccles then get out and walk if/when the traffic grinds to a halt.

Official Travel plan here including route from Eccles at the bottom:

Have a great day
