Maniac driver: GV64 EGU

Sorry to add negativity to a good day at the stoop, but the driver of a white BMW GV64 EGU needs to take some driving lessons: on way out of car park tonight, he sped (with too much speed) through the "roundabout" that is clearly marked at exit to car park by North Stand without looking and nearly hit us side on had it not been for a last second brake. Then his passenger gave us the "finger", all in view of a car park attendant/steward. Mate - learn to drive before you take a car on the road and when you're wrong, show some humility!

Tango Whisky Alpha Tango.

A white BMW and the driver was a bleeping bleeper?

That’s a first.

But some people are extraordinary - the ones who dump their cars at the start of the walk from the nature reserve by Kneller gardens seem to think that they’ve got every right to drive at a crowd of people walking down the lane and honk their horns....

Get your phone out sharpish and film it or get dash cams all round.

Hey Bollie, report it to the club officially, the reg number maybe listed, so they could write to them etc. Wrt the steward, external stewards are employed separately to the internals, not the same comparison 😃

I think it's pretty bad form putting someone's reg plate on a public internet forum.

Sorry about that Bolly, didn't recognise you! grinning smiley

What annoys me about the "finger" brigade is that they always do it from the safety of their car, and never get out to actually discuss the matter face to face... (Sm110)

Well, assuming he'll use the same car park next home game you can probably leave him a note.

I’m pretty sure number plates aren’t private.

It's hard not to notice them as dealers keep sticking them on cars...

Point of interest. No-one "owns" a registration number. Even the very expensive personalised ones. The DVLA retains ownership of them. You just hold the right to display the number on your vehicle which the DVLA can withdraw at any point in time.

So, in essence, something belonging to the DVLA has been placed in the thread title.

You could probably get an address for the number plate if you know the right person. Then send them a nice letter. Or if they are in the car park next time photograph the car and put it on whatsisfacetwitchat.

If its there next home game I'll run a key down the side of it for you. It's the least they deserve.

It wasn’t JM! (I know you jest!)

I don’t condone any vandalism - just want the bloke to think before he drives and give way when you’re meant to.

More haste, less speed...

I don’t understand how/why people do this, especially to fellow rugby fans. Was walking back to the Sussex the other week with a mate and his 6 year old, coming out of the back path, when a car barely missed us. He took the full wrath of my umbrella to his boot. Luckily for him, he decided not to escalate the situation.

It could have been a disgruntled Bath fan/player? Not that that is any excuse of course.

For your information, the GV prefix, which is a regional identifier, indicates that it was first registered in the DVLA Brighton office. Other Brighton identifiers are GP, GR, GS, GT, GU, GX, GY. This does not mean that the owner lives in Brighton - only that it was initially registered in what is know as Garden of England regional area.

Wow we’ve gone “old” top gear like when I was a kid - dull old men with beards, tweed, tyre kicking and people snoring on about fuel consumption and boot size.
