Don't agree. Sort out the rugby yes, but can plan new ground at the same time. The quality of the rugby will go through ups and downs so not a reason in my opinion to delay development plans. What would be better would be if their press releases about the non-rugby plans perhaps acknowledged the current malaise and spout some guff about progress on and off the pitch, rather than just ignoring the rugby side of things in these press releases

Did you have to start a new thread to make this point again?

Club wonít exist for your winning team if it doesnít plan for expansion and actually make money from the facilities.

Take the last three months - three home Quins games and a couple of womenís games.

Home games mainly funded by season tickets, barely any revenue for the rest compared to the cost of opening and staffing stadium,

Bye Quins

Wasps was a totally different scenario. We already own our ground, they didn't & had to pay out to play at Adams Park & could not benefit from revenue there. Is a completely new stadium actually necessary? A successful & winning Quins team should always come first. This just gives the board even more opportunity to take their eye off the ball. A lot of folk who have contributed over the years with cash & a lot of passion are being isolated. I'm sick of reading corporate press releases with nothing to do with Rugby. Get a proper team with a proper set of coaches first!

You know that we lose money every year, right? We are being bankrolled. We need to sort of the finances. Ignoring this fact is like hiding the bills down the back of the sofa.

Wasps isnít completely different, they sorted out their finances and strangely enough the rugby 8mproved when they had money in the bank
They make more money from the non rugby events at the Ricoh because they have the space rent for trade shows etc and earn revenue in the week

Get a proper team and coaches - get winning, then worry about the none rugby stuff.....

Hmmmmm...... Iíd argue that the success we have had previously is the springboard for the club moving forward off the pitch now.

However, it certainly feels precisely the wrong time with the JK news and our malaise. However I imagine that this was planned a while back and part of a schedule, so you canít expect the club to just stop because itís struggling right now.

Better comms though would be good. How about:

Itís all abit pants on the pitch but hopefully a new pitch will help with the blues all fans are
Suffering from?

If we'd waited till we sorted out our playing before doing the business thing we'd be lucky to have the East Stand by now.

The Wasps business plan is seriously flawed ... they won't be able to repay the Bond in 2-3 years' time and will be forced to go through a re-financing exercise which will be expensive

The owners have now got what they wanted all along ... a property asset (The Ricoh) ... although they have so far failed to get anyone to agree a new naming rights deal and the Arena fails to attract "A" list artists as Coventry is too close to Birmingham

The property will no doubt be "ring-fenced" from the rugby club so will not be available to the bond holders as security

If the rugby club has to be sacrificed in 2-3 years' time then so be it !

Wasps' supporters have been through this before with Steve Hayes who had a "property strategy" in Wycombe which failed and almost dragged the rugby club under

There is a team called Quins
Who struggle to get any wins
They sacked the director
To satisfy an objector
And they still donít get many wins...

ďCommunity assetĒ is the drippy nonsense you have to include to get planning permission.

And if you want a rugby club, you need the stadium and facilities to make money.

So youíre buying into both.
