Pre-season fixtures announced

Harlequins can confirm three first-team fixtures ahead of the 2018/19 season.

Jersey (a)
Saturday 11th August, 19:00 kick-off
Paul Gustard’s first game as Head of Rugby at Harlequins will be at Stade Santander against Greene King Championship side Jersey on Saturday 11th August. The sides met at The Stoop in 2017 when Harlequins won the match 47-21.

Glasgow Warriors (a – Perth, Scotland)
Saturday 18th August, 14:00 kick-off
The Club will then travel to Scotland to play Guinness Pro14’s Glasgow Warriors in Perth on Saturday 18th August. The ‘Famous Grouse Pre-Season Challenge’ will be played at Perthshire RFC’s North Inch ground with a 5,000-capacity arena constructed close to the city centre with the game forming part of a huge weekend of activity in the city.
The sides last met in 2016 when Harlequins edged a pre-season victory 22-17 at The Stoop.
Glasgow Warriors’ Head Coach Dave Rennie said: “Harlequins are a top side full of international players and will provide us with the type of challenge we need as we gear up for a new season.”

Ealing Trailfinders (h)
Friday 24th August, 19:00 kick-off
The Stoop will host its first game of the 2018/19 season with a London derby against Ealing Trailfinders under lights on the Friday before the Gallagher Premiership begins.
Tickets for the game will be available here or by calling 020 8410 6010 from 09:00 on Wednesday 30th May.
Preceding the match, The Stoop's gates will open early for Members and their guests, as Harlequins hosts a Members afternoon. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet players and coaches, take a tour of The Stoop, meet and train with Harlequins and Harlequins Ladies players.

Just the 1 home game, would rather it was a Saturday.

Yeah this is a total crock. Pre-season family day and the match was planning to bring our young kids who aren't old enough (in our view) to enjoy the full 80 mins in a packed stadium.

Now it's a Friday night -- so no kids then.

And some "members afternoon" -- anyone fancy taking time off work? Very silly decision by the club to ditch what was a really nice event for families.

Looks as though my daughter in Fife will be getting a visit in August.

Agreed, 2 long distance away friendlies and a home Friday night (bank holiday weekend) is utter rubbish. No pre season family day? So much of what made the "family" experience is being lost :-(

For a second there I thought we were getting an Edinburgh fixture during the fringe. Still may be able to wrap both into a single trip, which would be good.

Looks like the pre season Cunningham Duncombe Trophy match against Irish has been dropped.

Excellent pre season warm ups. Weekend away Jersey, Glasgow and a Friday evening in Twickenham. Booking flights, hotels right now. The future of Quins is looking bright!

And we're in Scotland, just down the road in Stirling, for a concert Friday 17th. It's never this convenient usually.

Jersey was agreed last season, can’t make that one
But Perth looks very affordable, shame our only home fixture is a Friday

Damn. I was hoping to do the Jersey trip, but I'm at a family wedding that w/e. Scotland is probably a no go as well. I might be able to do the one home fixture. Do we know yet whether the Rosebine will be open early enough to cover the Extra members events?

Edit: oops, just seen the other thread...

Don't we also owe a return leg friendly to Jersey this season?

In the most eye-catching of the pre-season fixtures the Trailfinders head to the Stoop to feature in a local derby against Harlequins.

As part of the agreement for this match, Harlequins will head to Vallis Way the following year ahead of the 2019/20 campaign in what will be an exciting occasion for the club.
