Should have more decorum and keep his trap shut.No use whinging to the officials on the pitch after the game. And he could also learn to keep a calm exterior...rant in private away from the eyes of the world.I liked how SCW never showed his feelings in public - I like JM even more for keeping things private.

Off to me bed now,the wine might be doing the talking.

Sleep well, lass.

But Johnno only said what most of us felt about the egregious Mr Lawrence.

Still - it's history now, and when we wake up tomorrow, there will only be one thing to think about: Mr Lewis (and Glaws, I guess) between Saints and another bit of silverware...

My biggest worry was what he said about this not being a transformed England side, suggests to me he'll revert back to the team who played Italy and Scotland given the chance. If Foden and Ashton haven't done enough now to stamp their names on the England shirt then they'll never get the chance under Johnno.

unfortunately the bbc message was 'bring on dear old johnny and all will be well'

he came on because flutey seemed to be injured (then played at 10 not 12).-kicked a good goal but them kicked away the ball twice in the last 10.a pity.

wouldn't have mattered if ashton had looked for the pass earlier.

care played a much better game as did cueto-because we tried to play rugby ?

Actually Alan it's worse than that... I'm going to call it 2003 disease. Yesterday any member of that 2003 squad who was working as a pundit saw salvation in a member of the 2003 squad.

Jonny, Tindall, Shaw, Moody... whether it was Dallaglio, Greenwood, Dawson. They all claimed that their mates would save the day. Greenwood was claiming on his Twitter feed that the French were scared of Jonny!! Not sure which game he was watching...

It really is time to move on.

Just because they played in 2003 doesn't mean they're now past it. Tindall did have a really good game - I was surprised when he came off, too. As for Tommo - well, the Beeb reckond that was playing the ref. Dunno about that, guess it might work.

I thought it was a shame Wilko took over 10 - at 12 he can tackle and kick penalties which is what he's good at. Even the Beeb were saying his kicking from hand had been poor.

On the bright side: I doubt Armitage will start another England game for a good long while. Foden, insecure under the high ball? Poor positioning? Nailed those two, didn't he...

I did mention this not long after his appointment. You want your Captain on the pitch all fire and brimstone and grab the game by the throat, you want your General in the stand to be detatched, and thinking calmly, devising measures to counter the opposition.

Nail on the head Duncan. Johnno was and still is an excellent captain. He is not a general.
