Great to see Digger keep his place ! Well done to Teimana for making the bench (only 17), time for Ashton to walk the walk !

I hope Ashton gets a warm welcome - I don't want to hear the FG faithful turn on one of our own, no matter whats happened.

as you say, rob.

zorro covers lock, craig covers 6/8,if nuts is injured then teimana is the best link player we have if we need 2 tries in the last 15 minutes

Re: Team's up!

Beef

I'm sure he will get a good welcome ... exactly what I wanted to see for this match i.e Digger on one wing and Flash on the other.

St Owen 23 March, 2012 12:05
Really excited bny our choice of captain.

I always feel it acts as a burden on Dowson's game.

Also its important for us to develop a broader 'formal' leadership within the club.

You can't always get what you want, But if you try sometimes well you might find, You get what you need.

I want to be grumpy with Ashy, but I just can't. I won't lie, my eyes lit up when I saw his name under Ben's. That team is awesome. I am so excited for tomorrow now.

Harrison must be really pleased - hopefully he can make an impact. Well done to Dicko too.

With you on that Eddie - a bit of friendly chanting when he scores a hat trick remninding him that he wont see the ball at Sarries..

Re: Team's up!
SAINT_aitch 23 March, 2012 12:32
Oh yes, that'll do nicely.
Dicko as captain is a strange choice though. For the same reasons St Owen gives for Dowson's game suffering when he has captaincy duties, lets hope the same does not apply to Dicko.
Good luck to them all, but especially Harrison.

Re: Team's up!
shendy 23 March, 2012 12:32
Great to see Digger start a Prem game on the wing again.
Really good for Dickson - let's face it, he tells everyone what to do anyway,
And Harrison - those who post about the Wandies have suggested promise, but wasn't expecting him on the bench so soon.

Re: Team's up!
Brushie 23 March, 2012 12:38
I can't find any player profile for Harrison on the offy, either in the main squad or Academy. Do we have any info on him apart from some Wandies games?
If he is just 17, that is a stunning acheivement to make the first team bench, especially for a forward.(Sm152)

Re: Team's up!
Bob Stainsby 23 March, 2012 12:39
very chuffed for Dicko I think he will make a splendid 'petit general' with his chivvying of the forwards etc. Well done Teimana and good on you Andy Long get out there n have a romp lads.

A timely show of confidence in, and respect for Lee after all the media carp about his last game for England. Surprise appearance for Teimana - assume Ben Nutley and Big Sam both injured? Ben went off early in Mobbs game but hoped it was just precautionary.

Agree totally. Pretty much the team I was hoping for there. Lets all get behind them and I hope we can get a good result.

Ref Teimana...

Age: 19
Position: Flanker
Born: Opotiki, New Zealand
Qualifies for England via his dad, Jonathan, who was born in Nottingham How he came to the Saints: Was captain of 1st XV of Rotorua Boys School (where Dylan Hartley went). Head coach Gordon Hunt recommended him to Dusty Hare, who sent Dylan to watch him play during the World Cup. Dylan then recommended Harrison to Dusty as well and Teimana's been at Franklin's Gardens on trial ever since.

Excited about seeing Harrison, lets not suppose its all due to others various injuries, it could be a case of lets have a look at him on the big stage given his potential. Who knows in a couple of years time, or even by Xmas, we might be doing a Max Boyce, I was there, the day Teimana made his debut.

Cheers Mr Wearmouth!

Re: Team's up!
Broonie 23 March, 2012 13:30
teimana's a bit different from what we often see.

generally, he lopes around, following play tackling anything which enters his area, looking for likely breakdowns, whether to reinforce an attack, or exploit an opponent who's looking like a possible turnover.when he sees something he changes gear and dives in

very aware of where the game is going at any time and great hands.

he looks a bit stringy, but he's tough ; he's a little like budge pountney in that he holds his balance well , but he can also play when he's off balance and he can play well up the gain line as he sees things early.

Re: Team's up!
Howlin 23 March, 2012 13:54
Echo Beefs sentiments, and if you need any furtehr convincing, remember he is young enough to come back once he realises what a big mistake he has made. lets show Ashton what he will be missing.

And yes, great to see Harrison on the bench and Craig hold his place in the second row. Now where are thoise people who keep saying we never give young players a chance ?

I walked away from Sixways saying that Digger and Flash have to start this week. Having seen Digger at Barf and the way he was blowing after 10 minutes I feared for his future but he has proved me wrong once again. Well done Digger.

The team almost picks itself due to injuries and other issues but I'm really pleased to see Ryan start and James Craig to keep his run going.

Let's hope the prep has been good because we can be beaten if we don't treat the game seriously.

Re: Team's up!
Saint Swill 23 March, 2012 14:40
I'm disappointed.

I would have thought that Conrad Smith would have at least got onto the bench.

Mallinder must go!

May one be allowed to state that one is suitably excited about Saturday's fixture having perused the above team announcement?

Re: Team's up!
StBleach 23 March, 2012 16:25
Yep, excitemnet is a good word - mind you, a 5:45pm kick off might cause a few problems with my brain cells.. I can see it now, usual ' morning all' start to the day, read the papers, get some breakfast, start watching the cooking programs, then..having put the GB and Gold on start pacing.. Mrs Bleach wants me out of the house so she can catch up with the gosspi with her friends and I will be heading for the pub at the usual time.. not good

Re: Team's up!
Sarge 23 March, 2012 17:10
St Bleach: the alternative is 10.30am outside the Red Lion at Hellidon for a 4-mile circular walk. Followed by a pub lunch and back to Northampton in time for a pint or two in your usual pre-match venue.

Nice idea Sarge, however, I will be walking the five miles or so from my house to the foundry... Not sure I could do with 4 miles in the morning..!.. You must share your route with me sometime, looks an interesting area..
