For example, while I agree that we deserved to be penalised for going off our feet towards the end of the game, but it riled me to then see Quins go off their feet at 2 subsequent rucks not 3 minutes later and no action was taken until some dubious penalty was awarded against us. In fact, I think this was the moment that James Downey was left with blood pouring from his head and - given the conversation I overheard between Sir the the Assistant Sir - no action was taken against Quins because the latter "couldn't see the number" of the player responsible.

Thanks for a good report and doesn't come across as a disgruntled supporter. Although you make an interesting point it's not one I'd wholly agree with. Yes the officiating was poor but it don't seem to get in the way of my enjoying the game. Both sides seemed nervous which contributed as much to some of the scratchy play. Gutted as I am by the result I was entertained. saints made much more of it than the pundits thought and I thought the Quine front row impressive. downeys defence was superb and the fact we threw away an eight point lead with ten minutes to go is part and parcel of the game.
