Good signing

And anyone who says they don't like us playing at MK and 30K+ crowds better take note . Wasps have a new long term business plan to take on the best in Europe not just the Midlands

Tigers are too good a club to be down for long and they will rebuild from within.

lets all get behind the next phase of Saints being pests to the other teams too

In all the pictures I have seen, it would appear that Mr Smith mostly enjoyed the pommes whilst he was Lyonnaisse....

Wasps may have a long term plan, but George wont be part of it.

Don't really get this one - esp marquee

Johnson
Haskell
Hughes

So they are paying to cover Haskell for the world cup?

i agree that Saintsman Tom. probably pay for itself in extra tickets and sponsorship, creates a PR buzz for the club that will have the usual suspects in the meedja wetting themselves but most importantly what a great player to have around the club to build confidence & knowledge in young players. he might even get some game time too.

You cannot underestimate what that kind of experience adds to a side. If you look at Toulon they might not be the best players in the world man for man, but they have serious amounts of experience at winning at the very highest level.

I don't think I understand rugby anymore

Your highest paid player isn't likely to play but adds experience so thats ok?

I appreciate the media is fickle but the point of a bond is it will have to be re-financed or re-paid.. meaning you generate funds from it.. not just spend it

Johnson plans to switch to hooker next season, so Smith will get plenty of game time.

I think you hit it on the head.

GS is going to bring 3 things to Wasps.

Experience, which if used wisely will benefit the whole team (everyone looks up to the giants of the game and are inspired by them)
Cover, Wasps have a good back row, BUT Ashley Johnson is moving to hooker leaving Haskell and Hughes. If Haskell continues to get England caps they need cover, and the possibility of Hughes getting called up for England in 12 months time is very real
Buzz, Who doesn't like to see great players on the pitch and there is a chance GS may get called up for AUS which increases his Crowd Pleasing £££

Having watched a few of the games he has played in last season, he still makes the grade (Think Brad Thorn at Tiggers)
