Great report, thanks. My view entirely about that late attack in the first half. As soon as we failed to score and the whistle went I knew we were going to lose. Saints are becoming that predictable this season.

Good report. Thanks

And I agree you need to turn pressure into points. I do wonder if Myler had been on would we have taken the three points to go in 15-3 up

But enjoyed the read. Enjoyed my trip. Anywhere that has Otter direct from cask and good pasties is worth a visit. I have a sneaking feeling we may visit Sandy Park again this season.

The tmo advised on the penalty at the end but also specified a knock-on by Gibson.

I remember the infamous Sid Going, coaching an NZ U21 side at FG, shouting in his deep voice time and time again 'Take the points'. Saints seem to have forgotten that maxim. Against Sale for example 9 points had been forsaken before a driving try was scored for 7. Against Worcester it was even worse, more like 18. Its not as if the Saints driving maul is as efficient this season as it was last.

The incident of the 5M scrum was at the end of the first half. The penalty was max 10M in from touch (far side of the ground from me so i couldn't see more exactly) so was a difficult kick even with the wind behind, not a gimme. A kick to touch would have guaranteed a 5M lineout. This is why I thought the lineout the best option. The wind did not affect lineout throwing at all as it wasnt strong enough.
