According to the Saints on Twitter it's Ben Whitehouse.

Youngish chap, gets a bad rap from mainly irish fans for some poor calls ('twas ever thus). He seems like a decent chap and communicates well with the players. No problems there.

Yes the referee should be the least of our worries... a loss with an improved performance will do for me.
not many teams win au stade Marcel Michelin, even though they have not been playing well this season they have amazing players across the park, being a French supporter there are a lot of players that are key for the French team, but for me the threat of Damian Penaud will has to be well managed (the best French young player I have seen in the last ten years), he could well become the French Brian O'Driscoll.

Ben Whitehouse is a very good referee in my opinion.

Yeah thatís a good shout, heís a real class act, silky player. Although I did watch one match this year when he went missing which gives me cause for optimism.

Not with that call on what should have been Hartley's try!

The commentators were actually mocking the amount he was missing by the end of the game - when that's the case you know he's had a total mare of a game.

The game needs refs and it's often a thankless task, so I hope the guy doesn't get too heavily slaughtered for it - but man was he bad.

The TJs and TMO didn't do him many favours mind. That shoulder to the side of the head was a red all day long whilst the Hartley card was borderline a penalty never a yellow. His reffing of the scrum was dreadful too.
