Leave him out, it's not our role to give him game time so he's ready to play against England.

Good grief - quite shocking a Welsh Head coach is concerned about welshman getting ready ready to play against England.

If George is fit you play him. Mad not too...and The Gaffner is not mad.

Agreed, if hes not fit enough or in form he shouldn't be in the team. Pisi's got to start after long week and Collins didn't do much wrong to warrant being dropped. Bench at best until back totally.

George is a top bloke - this keyboard warrior vitriol is really not needed

No-one in rugby can help getting injured

No-one should be criticized for wanting to play for their country, even those who "adopt", if they can't get in the side, who would criticize them for not wanting to play for their club?

Neither should anyone with a short career be castigated for wanting to move "back home" with their fiancť who has retired from professional support and start on "plan b" - they are both 26 years old, have handed this country lions and international success and gold and silver cycling honors at the highest grade, they have a window before they are "yesterdays" stars to set up their bakery/coffee business

Seriously take a look at yourselves - players come and go, until he goes - George is a Saint and after he's gone he will be an ex Saint, welcomed with open arms in the crooked hooker and that should be ditto from the fans

+1 for these comments.

The lad is damned if he does, damned if he doesn't. As has been pointed out in previous threads, there are not many opportunities left to see George in a Saints shirt. If he is fit to play he has to be considered for selection.

Well said Tubs

George is a saint and will be till he leaves at the end of the season, if Gaffney wants to pick him on Saturday the. Good luck to him, we need this game and donít care if it helps Wales, this game is for Saints!

If selected show the doubters George!

Might be better if he was picked to play on Friday night, methinks.

He shouldnít start over an in form Pisi or Collins with his pace. Stick North on the bench.

I feel for the boy. Maybe too much International success early in his career to the point when big games, on big stages, in a red shirt possibly became his prime objective even if he did not really realise it himself. We have seen some sublime moments from him in a Saints jersey, just as we did from Spencer and Picamoles, but for the financial investment from NRFC, not nearly enough of them. Injury prone with the ever present risk of another serious concussion always hanging over him, he is struggling to get a game for anyone which is a sad state affairs.

It is not for Warren Gatland to dicate to Saints that he should play this weekend. Ken Pisi is in good nick at the moment and Tom Collins is only just back to fitness. No doubt Gaffney will guide the selection process wisely as there is a semi-final up for grabs on friday night.

Bench, we must pick on form. Heís returning from injury, so standard run out 20/15 mins at end of game for me. Would send the wrong message out to the players he automatically displaces & he will be away for 5 odd weeks after so relatively little to gain short term by picking him IMO.

The facts are simple. Had George not had a twinge/strain in the pre-match warm up he would have played last weekend! He should definitely make an appearance on Friday night, when and for how long should be determined by the Coaches (not by Wales!), but we should be thankful to have him with us. Itís going to be a tough battle, and there arenít many teams out there who would snub a player of his class in their line up. Letís look forward to seeing George play!

CíMON YOU SAINTS!

Incredible comments. Of course itís not for Gatland to dictate he is picked for the Saints nor how much he plays if selected. However, thanks for making him available as we have a game to win.

He does get a hard time on here from some. There was a post from the Saints wishing Rory Hutchinson a happy birthday yesterday and a clip of a wonderful try he scored. Made by one G.North. He is capable of brilliance, not his fault we havenít utilised him fully

It would be churlish not to help Wales. Itís a game we must win . Surely playing George is a big plus.

George is Lion, International quality player, employed by Saints and paid by Saints. If Gaffney decides he has the attributes and is fit enough to start he starts if not he does not. Saints interests come first and we need the gaffer to put out our best team he thinks which will get us the win. Some of the comments above about leaving him out etc.. are ridiculous.

The Gaffer is paid to make these decisions, but I expect him to play.
Poor chap has been plagued by injury, which is not his fault but it is damn frustrating for us supporters.

I can understand criticism of a player who doesnít seem to be giving their best or playing too much within themselves
But I have never seen GN give less than 100% each and every time he has pulled the shirt on
He is still one of the best wingers in rugby
He is a game changer
He is a far greater threat than Ken and Tom
I donít get the Ďdonít play himí Ď put him on the benchí approach

Not sure he is greater threat than Tom C, just different. George is obviously a lot bigger and more powerful while still agile for his size but he isn't as quick or elusive as Tom C.

I'm sure the gaffer will happily ignore Warren Gatland and do what he wants, if North is fully fit then he'll surely play a role.
