Why not Mobbs?

Depends who in our squad is leaving of course, but if there is a gap and the price was right why not. He’s going to be busting a gut to be in England contention. Get past the bluff and bluster he’s actually a good player and extremely dedicated so I don’t see a problem with it.

apparently no bids, only club interested is Irish and he’s not interested

France makes sense

Hugely physical 6 and ball carrier..
For the right price what's not to like?

I'd expect Bristol or Sale however (or maybe Sarries on a short term deal to cover leavers)

Not if he still has England aspirations beyond this season which I’m sure he does

Met James, actually decent guy. Takes himself a bit seriously but he’s ambitious, entrepreneurial and quite fun.

Mobbs, fair enough, love the honesty

I think he is one those guys who could really galvanise a squad or go competely the opposite direction. Marmite if you like.

Personally think he will go to Tigers - they have an opening. And this post could be a clue Instagram Link

Lives locally (Welton near Daventry) - would be very convenient for him

I wouldn't mind him personally. He is a big ball carrier, that we have a huge lack of. Rumours were he was talking to Saints, Bristol and Glasgow. I see Bristol winning that fight for obvious reasons (£££££££)

Personally though I'd prefer Ardie Savea or Vaea Fifta from a certain windy Wellington club. I hear we have a guy on the inside.

Surely we have too many backrow already.

If wood and Gibson both left then yes sign Haskell but otherwise we have two top 6s and then some good cover as well.

We have a few backrowers yes, but they are all lightweight. We need some with muscle and Hask has that.

It seems he is willing to take a drop in salary to stay in the premiership. He wants to be in the next World Cup and that is his only route. Seems some room for negotiation.

Definitely not for me on purely personal aspects.
I reffed him on several occasions when he was at Wellington College, and Maidenhead Colts, very talented even then, but his arrogance and personal demeanour off the pitch put me right off him.
but then I don't hold the cheque book.

He's a guy that divides opinion as this thread shows. He's a decent player no doubt but don't see at Saints.

Going abroad won’t do his media and fitness guru career prospects any good.

I must be in a minority but I actually quite like the guy and wouldn't mind seeing him at Saints.

Not that I'm going to make comment on who to replace him with mind... Because I don't know.

On Rugby tonight on BT Sport tonight they said rumour was he was going to Saints!

Re: Haskell leaving Wasps....BBC
herbie85 31 January, 2018 21:53
Rumour yes, hopefully unfounded. The guy will be 33 when goes to a new club. He is muscular but doesn't use it well. He's neither quick nor carries particularly effectively, doesn't do much at the break down other than concede pens. And he would expect a reasonable salary being a recent England international. Only real asset i see is his tackling counts/figures but I would expect any decent back rowers to be near the top of the tackle counts anyway. All the above imho of course.
