Perhaps one or two might consider a move from the French Riviera to the Shire?

With the new rules around french qualified players in squads, it might seem like Georgians and Moldovans are on the look for new clubs.

However, we hear that the South African's are going to scrap their 30 caps minimum rule already.

England & Japan might quickly become the place where journeymen come to ply their trades...
...Cos we don't have enough already...

I would happily welcome a scrummaging journeyman Romanian, Georgian, Moldovan or SA

i'd happily welcome a scrummaging journey man from any country, so long as they are better than our current squad and value for money.

The idea that players from a specific country are better than those from another has never settled well with me. I would imagine that the only difference is the salary expectations, but once you recive your first major contract, all that would change. Do you think Toulon signed Mamuka Gorgodze on a pitance because he's Georgian?

Iím not sure picking the one iconic player across that region is a good example of value

Arhip, Mataradze (we should sign), Cobillas, Tarus would be...

plus South Africa is so deep with forwards that there are bargains everywhere, but it needs careful scouting not just watching a few YouTube vids

So you don't think that applies to Saints already?

Georgian scrum reported to be the Ďstrongestí in rugby. But when they played wales in the AIís they didnít take our scrum apart, and ours is not that strong.

Not sure Eddie will get much from that session.

He played 2 games for Western Province (which is level below super rugby) and had to move to Oz to get some game time. Who knows what he can do with good coaching (neither Force nor Saints offered that)

but if you go for a SA franchise, super rugby squad prop you're pretty much guaranteed someone who can scrummage.Just get the Lions reserve etc ...... oh whoops Ackermann will do that next summer

Van wky was really poor recruitment.

Couldn't secure even a back up role at any of the SA super rugby teams, so went too Oz in hope of more game time.
And was mostly on the bench for Force as well who were hardly known for there Scrummaging prowess.

Alarm bells should of surely been ringing!
No way near enough scouting could of gone in too that signing.

I take the point about coaching, you can always improve players of course. But that should be if your signing really raw youngsters.

We've got the youngsters in our Academy, so let's get 2 proven scrummagers. Don't have too be amazing around the park, if they are that's a bonus.
