So why are these RWC warm-up games full internationals?
The Rugby Championship I understand because that's their regular competition, but these northern hemisphere games? They weren't always full-cap games, were they?

When its pretty much a full team vs a full team then why not?

How about england soccer friendlies? Test matches outside of the Ashes?

You are representing your country of course they should be ‘capped’ games. I’d be mightily p’d off if my one and only game v a near full strength Welsh team in front of a full Twickenham was deemed not worthy of a cap. Or even if it wasn’t my one and only game.
