Unlike last season when our defence was made of granite we have all too often seen sides cut through like a hot knife through butter. On some occasions we've pulled back to a draw and on some occasions we've just about held on to the end but watching has not been good for the ticker. I was not surprised to see it happen again last night but I'm as disappointed as anyone. Just not surprised. Unfortunately, for me, the home semi vs Bris was the extraordinary result of the season. Slightly unusual last night was Wardy's first half lineout display - which didn't help us. Then a yellow card for something silly - again unusual. But there was a trademark run from Cookie and another from Burgess to lift our spirits. We mashed em in the scrum early on and should've capitalised on that. But our centres left gaping holes and that doesn't help. We will have to put in a 2nd extraordinary display (as far as this season's standards go) to overhaul 16 pts against a team who we don't traditionally do too well against away from home. Can we do it? Aaaaargh!! But we need to mash em in the scrummage, lineout well, kick all our pens and turn ball over as we are capable of if it's to happen. Let's hope that all the Cornish Saints are with us. To win it now, against all odds, would be a magical finish and a real statement to the rugby world.
C'mon Pirates!!!!! COME ON!!!!
