It really does put the focus on that early run of games. Quins have to use the stability of the squad to win home games against teams that have a big RWC contingent, a load of new players to integrate or both.
I reckon the Tigers and Exeter matches at the end of October could also be critical. By 18 October, we should have Danny back in action, but Tigers will probably still be missing an army of England players. There may never be a better chance to take the game to them at Welford Road. Unless injuries to the England squad see late call-ups for Ugo and Chris...
By the same token, Exeter will come to Quins with a settled team and the ambition to make good on all those predictions that they'll finish ahead of us, whereas Quins will be coming off the back of a string of tough games. The banana skin potential is quite high.
