Nice piece, I mean I know they're good, but it sometimes takes someone more knowledgeable to state why!

It would be great if any of the TV commentators were able to pick up and explain even a quarter of that sort of play.

Really great insight

They used to do this kind of move all the time last season with a winger coming in off his wing and supporting a central play/move. This season has been pretty sparse with moves. Either teams have working them out (possibility) or the skill levels have reduced (I think this the main reason behind a very average lateral attack this season)

Everyone is seeing less space in midfield. As we saw last weekend, line speed in defence, once a Sarries feature, is now routinely much quicker in every team, more drilled and more effective than ever before.

its also down to the weather; more rain, more cold hands and bodies, more pudding like pitches it makes these complicated plays more difficult. also with Faz swapping between England & Sarries doesn't help

I would expect us to increase these again after the 6 nations is out the way

JO'G - are you inadvertently becoming an advocate of moving the season to the summer months?

It can't happen because, as Tigers fans tell us, rugby is a game that's supposed to be played in the rain and mad.

No one likes seeing attacking play, backs move etc. Apparently.
