Quote:The Redruth contingent were all playing for Cornwall yesterday, Stalwart. Plymouth Albion have a game next week as well.*StalwartQuote:I think Albion and Redruth had games today.Rich.Quote:*Stalwart

Quote:No as the record of the six counties in the pool is taken over a two year period - last season and this season - therefore, despite the fact they won last Saturday, Devon are already relegated. It's between Gloucestershire and Hertfordshire for the place at Twickenham for the Southern region. If Gloucestershire win at Esher against Surrey then they will be at Twickenham regardless of what Hertfordshire do.Cowship Pirate
Is relegation on the cards if we lose to Herts ?
Quote:There were six players from Level 8 or Level 9 clubs in the squad for the Hertfordshire game. Remember that Plymouth Albion had league games on the first two weeks of the competition, so we lost ALL of Level Three players this year, and there were a number of players who opted not to play this year. Ultimately the selectors can only pick players who are actively available to play. If we are left fielding mainly Level Four & Level Five players with a number of Level Eight and Nine, then realistically we will struggle as most of the counties in the Southern Group can field sides made up of Level Three and Four players. We've did have players from Penryn and Saltash in the Twickenham squad last year.bolingey pirate
I'm surprised no one has yet commented on Cornwall's performance yesterday. I only heard the match on Radio Cornwall, but a 50-0 thrashing after two other mediocre performances must be a real worry for the C.R.F.U. Thank heavens, Cornwall weren't relegated!!
