"Barking are the same as us, a resurgent club showing a bit of form. Both teams had a tough September and a good October," said Lions director of rugby Mark Ellis.
Ellis hailed the Lions "considerable" improvement in the last few weeks, which meant he could reward the players by naming an unchanged squad of 20 for the match against Barking and would field the same starting line-up as last week's match against Lydney.
Ellis did admit that the standard in the League had come us a surprise to the club.
"All the games in this league are tough, we thought that it might not be as good as the North league, but if anything it is better, it is certainly more physical," said Ellis.
However, the leadership of senior players such as tight head prop James Hadfield, back row forward Shaun Brady and scrum-half Toby Handley had been crucial to Lions form, he added.
"They are the players who have stood up to be counted in the last few weeks," said Ellis.
"We went through a crisis of confidence earlier in the season, but these players have now begun to lead and the younger players are growing in confidence around them. It will be a big test when we play London Scottish in a couple of weeks time."
