Rugby Lions 17 Barking 14
By Coventry Telegraph
November 17 2008
IMPROVING Lions climbed back into the top half of the National Division Three South table with a hard-earned victory in a game between two well-matched sides. James Hawken kicked a penalty after Barking put themselves under pressure from the kick-off, and the full-back finished off a fine run by Phil Reed with a 28th-minute try which he also converted. With skipper Alex Nash leading by
example from the back row, Lions struck a decisive blow soon after the restart when scrum-half Toby Handley went over for a try which Hawken converted.

Barking hit back with tries by Tavela Kwilimbe and James Kelland, both converted by Oliver Criosby, to set up a tense last quarter, but Rugby's defence resisted the efforts of a powerful opposition pack.
