Wayne Lester then gave the visitors a passage back in to the game with a well-worked try, but James Gough and Ireland’s boot quickly slammed the door shut.
“I think it’s fair to say that it wasn’t our best day at the office,” said coach Ed Simkiss. “It wasn’t the greatest performance we’ve ever given, and we were in trouble early on after a terrible start. The second-half was ugly to be honest, and I think maybe it’s a case of us having to brush this one off and go again, because other than the bright moment of Wayne’s try, that was a forgettable display.”
