Centurions group boost to Cov players over unpaid wages
By John Wilkinson, Coventry Telegraph
December 13 2009
DONATIONS from the Centurions group and friends have so far raised £23,000 towards meeting the unpaid November wages of Coventry Rugby Club’s players and staff. This, along with the release by the RFU of the security bond raised 18 months ago by supporters and well-wishers, has enabled today’s Championship game at Exeter to go ahead.

But fund organisers would like to stress the importance of further contributions while the future of the club – which went into administration last week – is decided.

All money paid into the fund will go towards paying the squad members and staff and donations can be made to the Coventry RFC Ltd (in administration) – Players and Staff Account, Yorkshire Bank, sort code 05-02-46, account number 76964430.

A statement from the trustees of the bond, which was required by the RFU to allow Cov to continue playing last season, will be released after the weekend.
