England put pay to Scotland at the weekend.................... 'And sent THEM homeward, to think again'
RBS Six Nations 2017
England 61 v 21 Scotland
Calcutta Cup 2017
England having won this match won the Six Nations Championship 2017 and will be presented with the trophy at the end of the Ireland game this weekend
England were the far better side on Saturday and just went up through gears and punished Scotland. Scotland shot themselves in the foot very early on in the game with the pumped up tackle by Frazier brown on Daly and quite rightly was sent off. The independent citing Officer has since cited him but the panel dismissed the claim stating.
The Disciplinary Committee, however, found that the act of foul play would have not have warranted a red card, and so the citing complaint was not upheld and no sanction was imposed. (The Disciplinary Committee also considered whether or not the player, in carrying out the tackle, had infringed Law 10.4(j), but found that not all of the necessary elements for foul play under that law had been present). The player is therefore able to resume playing immediately.
Scotland should have known England would be still smarting from the Italy debacle and would want to inflict a heavy defeat on their next opponents. Sadly for the, Scots it was them! But oh how sweet it was especially after all the Scots chat prior to the game. Aye they talked a good game...........took many damaging hits and as their coach said they will be struggling to get a strong side out for next weekend.
England however, were a joy to watch.
